Justin Was Accused Of Being Attention-Seeking For Making A Misleading Post

He then replaced the misleading image with a simple background, all while maintaining the message "Praying for Israel."

However, the damage already appeared to be done, with many critics turning to social media to criticize Justin for posting about a subject he wasn’t educated on. Some comments accused him of using the ongoing situation between Palestine and Israel for attention. “Justin Bieber posting ‘praying for Israel’ and the pic is from Gaza. Irony,” one person tweeted.

“Another example of celebrities knowing absolutely nothing and reposting the first thing they see,” a different critic on Twitter wrote.

Even before Justin managed to delete the post, the comments were filled with people calling him out on the inaccuracy. "We’ve reached peak meaningless pop delusion. Showing the obliterated ruins of Gaza with ‘Praying for Israel’ is a depraved sign of the times," one person wrote under the singer’s original post.

Justin isn’t the only famous face to have come under fire recently for sharing inaccurate information while expressing their concern about the Israel-Palestine conflict.

In a similar occurrence, actress Jamie Lee Curtis posted a picture on Instagram accompanied by the caption "Terror from the skies" along with an Israeli flag. She promptly deleted the post after her followers alerted her that the image, in fact, portrayed children from Gaza.

Jamie then followed up her deleted post with a different one featuring a generic picture of two children holding hands and running, accompanied by the caption, "In times of conflict, ALL CHILDREN should be shielded. @my_hand_in_yours is committed to providing care and treatment for critically ill or injured children @childrensla, regardless of their family's financial means."

Nevertheless, Jamie also found herself the subject of online outrage, despite removing the picture, much like Justin.

“Jamie lee Curtis posting a pic of children from Gaza looking up at Israelis bombs, but thought it was Israeli children, one person tweeted.

Earlier this week, Kylie Jenner also deleted a pro-Israel post after facing backlash for not extending similar sentiments to Palestinians impact by the ongoing crisis. On Tuesday, she posted a picture from the Instagram account @StandWithUs, a renowned advocate for Israel, along with the Israeli flag. The caption read, "Now and forever, we stand with the people of Israel!"

The makeup mogul’s post followed a day marked by tragic events, with a Hamas-led attack leading to the declaration of war in the Gaza Strip and resulting in over a thousand casualties.

Though she deleted the post, Kylie has not directly addressed the controversy.
