Kaitlyn Bristowe made her reality TV appearance on Season 19 of The Bachelor, where she and 29 other women pursued Chris Soules. While Kaitlyn didn't get the final rose, she was named the lead for Season 11 of The Bachelorette. Kaitlyn accepted a proposal by Shawn Booth, but the couple ended their engagement soon after.
Kaitlyn continued to find success on reality TV when she won Season 29 of Dancing With the Stars. She also launched her Off the Vine podcast. However, Kaitlyn has been yet another celeb victimized by internet trolls about her changing appearance. But, unlike most stars, Kaitlyn has been candid about the work she has done to her face.
In December 2024, Kaitlyn allowed her social media followers in on her upper blepharoplasty—a cosmetic procedure on the eyelids to remove excess skin. Now that Kaitlyn's eyes are pretty much healed, she's shared every detail of her experience, including a scary incident when her dog clawed at her eyes.

Kaitlyn Bristowe Detailed Her Eyelid Surgery After Being Transparent About Not Liking Her Hooded Eyes
Kaitlyn Bristowe has never shied away from speaking about the work she has done to her face. In early December, the former Bachelorette shared a photo of herself in the hospital with her eyes covered in bandages on Instagram. In her caption, she wrote, "I got an upper bleph (take it to your group chat if you wanna be negative)."
Kaitlyn's cosmetic procedure is called upper blepharoplasty. According to Mayo Clinic, the procedure "is a type of surgery that removes excess skin from the eyelids. With age, eyelids stretch, and the muscles supporting them weaken. As a result, excess skin and fat can gather above and below your eyelids. This can cause sagging eyebrows, droopy upper lids and bags under the eyes."
The day after her procedure, Kaitlyn posted two photos of her eyelids stitched up. She poked fun at herself, captioning the images, "Don’t be ridiculous Andrea, everyone wants to look like this."
After Kaitlyn's eyes had pretty much healed, she shared all the details of her eyelid surgery with her followers in a January Instagram post.
The podcast host shared that she "had a very hooded lid" and "tried to over-correct it by doing Botox, where I got too much bad Botox, and it actually drooped my lid even more."
"It was something that had bothered me for a very long time."
Kaitlyn then detailed how quick the cosmetic procedure was. In fact, she told her fans that despite all the rumors with regard to her appearance, "it was my first plastic surgery."
The celeb shared that the procedure took 15 to 20 minutes with "zero pain," and she had her stitches on for about 10 to 14 days. Despite the reality star having to sleep sitting up for two days, she went about her life like normal.
Although her procedure went rather smoothly, Kaitlyn faced a scary situation when one of her dogs "clawed at one of her eyes." Thankfully, her pup didn't do too much damage. "I had to get one re-stitched so that one is slowly healing a bit slower than the other eye," she shared.
She then told her followers that the healing time was quick. "That surgery that I had for my upper bleph was on December 5. It is now January 22. The scarring is healing nicely." Closing out her video, Kaitlyn wanted to let her followers know that the only reason she shared her procedure was to "simply be transparent and sharing my journey."

Kaitlyn Revealed All The Work She Has Done
In the same Instagram video detailing her upper blepharoplasty, Kaitlyn also shared all the work she had done. For years now, Kaitlyn has been attacked by internet trolls and critics who have believed she had "gone under the knife" and completely changed her appearance.
After telling her Instagram followers that she had tried to fix her hooded eyes with Botox, she went on to explain all the other work she had done to her face. Kaitlyn shared that she had lip and cheek filler, and bonded her teeth, a procedure that "is used to repair chips, close down gaps or change the shape and color of a tooth." The procedures Kaitlyn mentioned can certainly change a person's looks without needing to "go under."
Kaitlyn was born in Alberta, Canada on June 19, 1985. She was engaged to Jason Tartick, a contestant on Season 14 of The Bachelorette, in 2021. However, they called off their engagement two years later.
To no surprise, after getting her eyelid surgery, she received a lot of backlash. In a December 30, 2024, Instagram post, Kaitlyn shared a before and after photo of herself with Danny Gonzalez and Drew Gooden's song "We Are Not The Same Person" playing in the background.
"lol… Believe it or not I’ve done more work on the inside.
You can’t physically see that, but I’ve never felt it more. ❤️
To the people who always wanna comment “you were so much prettier before all the work you’ve had done”. I suggest you do the important work on the inside before judging what’s on the outside."

Fans Loved Kaitlyn's Honesty
Fans found it refreshing to hear a celebrity speak so candidly about a cosmetic procedure they had done. Despite Kaitlyn facing a few internet trolls, she also saw plenty of social media followers admiring her honesty.
In a Reddit thread that discussed Kaitlyn's eyelid surgery Instagram video, users were thrilled to see Kaitlyn being completely transparent.
"I respect the HELL out of the transparency. She said “while we’re here, here’s everything I’ve done” which I think is really cool and I wish everyone would be more open about these things. Go Kaitlyn," a comment read.
"I like this! Everyone has been complaining about how people aren’t transparent, and here she is! And yes for toning down the Botox. I think she looks great!" Another comment read.
"As someone who’s considering maybe doing the same, I really appreciate her explanation and transparency!"
As fans loved Kaitlyn's honesty, they also hoped that she could be just as honest about her dating life. Since January 2024, Kaitlyn has been linked to The Bachelorette contestant Zac Clark. According to Us Weekly, the pair allegedly attended a Philadelphia Eagles NFL game together this year. However, the two have yet to set the record straight.
