The Big Bang Theory Cast Didn't Invite Kaley Cuoco Out Thinking She Had Better Plans

There truly was a lot that took place behind the scenes on The Big Bang Theory. During their final interview with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show, Johnny Galecki made quite the reveal about Kaley Cuoco.

Galecki said, "We always thought Kaley was too cool for school because she would always run off and we would all hang out after rehearsal."

Cuoco instantly took exception to the comment, and put the cast on the spot for it. She said, "I had just turned 21 and at the beginning, the guys would hang around a lot. I would leave, and I didn't know all these ragers were going on. Months later, he asked "Why don't you ever come out with us?" And I go, "You guys go out?""

Cuoco continues, "They never invited me!"

The hilarious interview moment can be seen below around the 8-minute mark.

Although she wasn't hanging out with the cast early on, Kaley Cuoco still had a blast filming the show and had chemistry with her cast members at the start.

Kaley Cuoco Immediately Hit It Off With Jim Parsons Behind The Scenes

Alongside The Hollywood Reporter, TBBT cast spoke about what it was like auditioning for the show. Kaley Cuoco discussed her first experience, and it was alongside Jim Parsons. The actress instantly knew that Jim was going to thrive on the show as Sheldon.

Cuoco recalls, "I remember sitting next to Jim in the waiting room and he had a Blackberry. It was an older phone and I remember introducing myself to him. He said he couldn't get his Blackberry working and was talking to it. I thought, "This guy would be a hilarious Sheldon." It might have been a Nextel, I don't know what it was!"

On the flip side, Parsons immediately connected with Johnny Galecki. In fact, Galecki wanted to read lines with Parsons prior to their audition, but Jim felt as though they should just wing it in the audition room. That was the correct decision as the chemistry between the two was evident from the start.

Johnny Galecki Felt Like It Was Important To Keep His Relationship With Kaley Cuoco Quiet For The Sake Of The Show

There were other things going on behind the scenes. Years later, it was revealed how Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco kept their relationship a secret from fans and the cast. Especially for Galecki, it was important for the sake of the show.

Cuoco recalls, "We all had different hotel rooms at Comic-Con. There were two giant buildings for this one hotel and Johnny and I weren't even in the same building. So we were like little mice in the night, running back and forth to each other's rooms, trying not to be noticed. I mean, who did we think we were?"

"So we would all be in the hotel lobby," he explained, "And Kaley and I would give each other a hug and pretend to say good night, and go our separate ways."

Galecki added, "I was very uncomfortable with being public about it, and I think that hurt Kaley's feelings a little bit, and I can understand that."

"It certainly wasn't because I was embarrassed of her or our relationship, but I wanted to be protective of the audience's acceptance of Penny and Leonard, and without distraction from the tabloids," he continued.

Despite the breakup between the two, it was all done on amicable terms and did not hurt the show's integrity one bit. Both Cuoco and Galecki stayed professional despite what was going on behind the scenes.
