Kanye West has been causing controversy in Italy for months and recently got a final warning from local authorities. But he’s apparently not slowing down as he focuses on launching his career comeback, with his latest move to hold a secret concert to promote his new album.
While a performance may seem innocent in the grand scheme of Kanye’s latest antics, the report is upsetting Italian war veterans in light of the rapper’s history of antisemitic remarks.

Kanye Is Planning A Controversial Concert, But It Hasn’t Been Approved Yet
Earlier this week, the Daily Mail released a report claiming that a set was currently being constructed at an open-air arena located outside of Reggio Emilia to be used in an exclusive, upcoming Kanye performance.
Photographs taken over several days showed of trucks making trips to and from the RCF Arena in Reggio Emilia, near Bologna. Even more, on Thursday, a private jet made a landing at a nearby airstrip, followed by a vehicle with heavily tinted windows seen en route to the venue. It’s believed Kanye and his entourage were riding within.
For now, Daily Mail claim the concert hasn’t been approved. “Early on Friday Reggio Emilia prefect Maria Rita Cocciufa said that no official permission had been received to stage the gig – which had been scheduled for today,” the outlet reported.
“Yet MailOnline can reveal a request has now been made for it to go ahead next Friday,” it continued.

Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Kylie and Kendall used to have a "type." But their current partners appear to be complete polar opposites.
A cabinet meeting focused on public safety will convene at the regional government office this coming Monday, with the aim of strategizing for the event, which is anticipated to draw a crowd of at least 100,000. It’s unclear if tickets will be sold ahead of time or if it’ll be an exclusive listening event, like Kanye has done in the past.
Though it seems Ye is confident the performance will happen – considering he’s building a set as well as hiring security and booking hotels, as per the report – there’s been opposition to the high-profile event from local veterans.
War Vets Say The Venue Shouldn’t Host Kanye Given His Past Comments
Speaking to the press, Albertina Soliani, the vice president of the (ANPI) National Association of Italian Partisans, encouraged the local government to decline Ye’s request to hold the gig. “It's time to say enough to these people who believe they can say what they want,” she said, referring to Kanye’s history of antisemitic commentary as well as other offensive wording, including praising Adolf Hitler.
“Someone can be a fantastic singer but then they are also judged by what they say, and West has made some inhumane declarations and with what's happening in the world today we cannot accept this concert,” she continued.
Echoing similar concerns, Ermete Fiaccadori, the ANPI regional president for Reggio Emilia, said the venue is an inappropriate place to host Kanye given his history.
“First of all let me just say that I hope this concert does not go ahead, this artist has a large following of youngsters, but his message is disquieting,” he explained.
“I'm speechless that he cannot understand what he Is saying, broadcasting a gross misunderstanding of what Adolf Hitler was in the course of history,” Fiaccadori went on. “I am all for artistic liberty but what Kanye West says and does leave me shocked.”
A decision on the concert is expected to be made early next week. For now, Kanye’s team has made no official comment on the rumored gig.
