Kate Middleton and Prince William are going through one of the toughest moments in their lives, but it seems they are doing a good job taking care of each other. The past couple of months have been filled with rumors and conspiracy theories about the Princess of Wales, and while some fans disagree with the way the palace managed the crisis, Kate Middleton has been conducting herself with grace.
However, it's time for the Prince and Princess to take another break from public exposure. They will use their children's Easter school break to flee from London and spend a short vacation in private as the Princess continues to prepare for her treatment and recovering from surgery.
Kate Middleton And Prince William Escape To Norfolk
After months in hiding and dealing with her disease, Kate Middleton briefly made a couple of public appearances to reassure people that she was alright. Those included her moving video where she revealed her cancer diagnosis and, while she didn't go into details, she did her best to ease people's minds, saying that she was on the road to recovery.
Despite remaining strong and positive, the Princess and her family are rightfully exhausted, and as she explained in her video, they need privacy to deal with this difficult time.
As a way to get a break from being so exposed, Kate, Prince William, and their three children escaped London to their vacation home in Norfolk. They took a helicopter to Anmer Hall this weekend, and they plan on spending the kids' Easter break at their Sandringham Estate property to have some time for themselves as Kate Middleton continues to recuperate.
This means they will skip the official Easter church service at St George’s Chapel. The Palace had already confirmed before the Princess of Wales announced her diagnosis that she wouldn't be resuming her duties on Easter, but now Prince William won't be present either. Instead, the family will have their own celebration just for them, as they take a break to deal with this difficult time in private.
How Kate And Prince William Are Dealing With The Princess' Illness
The Princess of Wales described Prince William as "a great source of comfort and reassurance" in the video where she announced her diagnosis, but it seems that, while he's focused on supporting Kate, the Prince himself is having a hard time.
According to royal expert Katie Nicholl, everyone at Kensington Palace is optimistic, but that doesn't mean this shocking diagnosis is not a difficult thing to deal with.
"We're told by the palace that Kate's feeling optimistic and that she's in good spirits," the expert reassured. "Hopefully the same can be said of Prince William, but clearly he's going to be desperately worried. This is his wife, his partner of some 20 years. The mother of his gorgeous three young children."
Katie Nicholl pointed out that Prince William is overwhelmed because, in addition to worrying about the Princess, he's also having to support the King, who is sick as well.
"There's huge pressure on the Prince of Wales. Not only is he having to step up for his father and support his father and the queen, but now having to care for his wife," she said.
However, the expert is also sure that they will get through this together. "Knowing the couple," she said, "they always try to find the positive in everything. So, I think they will be feeling shocked, yes, but also positive."
