Jeff Daniels Left Kelly Clarkson And Fans In Tears Following The Performance Of His Original Song

Jeff Daniels just keeps on going. The actor is all over the headlines at the moment for his role in, A Man in Full. Among his recent pit stops included The Kelly Clarkson Show. Both fans and the host weren't ready for what the interview would entail. Jeff planned on unveiling one of his original songs. However, he warned fans before the performance.

He said, "For anybody who plays guitar, it is okay, you don't have to be any good. But it's just that thing you do when you're sitting on the porch with your best friend, the guitar. And you want to write a love song, about the guitar."

Clarkson was speechless once the song came to an end. She was even caught saying, "what is happening?" during the performance.

Clarkson revealed she was nervous to hear Daniels sing, and was blown away by his song.

"I'm going to be really honest right now. 'They were like, 'Hey, Jeff Daniels wants to come in and play a song.' And I was like, okay, I don't know how this is going to go. But then I was like, 'Oh my gosh.'"

The moment is definitely worth a watch.

As expected, fans had a lot to say watching the interview moment.

Fans wrote, "Jeff Daniel’s is such a great country music name! You know when it’s a good song when you come away singing and humming it for a time. THAT WAS A BEAUTIFUL STORY OF LOVE. Record it, and get ready for the CMA’s - Best New Artist, New Song…. So charming and beautiful to listen to."

"Jeff is great! Anyone that was really paying attention to The Newsroom knows the man has real musical talent. Now get Hugh Laurie on and ask him for a song."

"That was such stunning writing and beautifully played. It should be released. He's an amazing artist with many artistic talents."

It truly was a great moment. Though Daniels did admit in an interview with IndieWire just prior that he loves writing music during his time away from Hollywood.

The actor revealed, “It’s what keeps me going,” Daniels told IndieWire on Zoom.

“It keeps me alive. It’s what I’m supposed to do. It’s helped me between the phone calls for the acting jobs. Because you can go insane staring at that phone. They’ll call you when they need you. And so I’ve always battled whatever depression or fear might come of never working again by working on other things that don’t require Hollywood to need me.”

At the age of 69, Jeff Daniels clearly doesn't have to act, and has other passions outside of Hollywood. Though following his performance in A Man in Full, fans clearly want to see more of the actor.
