But Kevin warned fans not to jump to any conclusions, saying he and the country singer have been friends for a long time, explaining their connection.
“Jewel and I are friends — we’ve never gone out,” he revealed on The Howard Stern Show. “She’s special, and I don’t want these rumors to ruin our friendship because that’s what we have.”

Kevin continued to deny the rumors, emphatically stating that they have “never gone out, ever.” He did acknowledge, however, that Jewel is “special” and “beautiful enough to go out with,” suggesting that there’s potential for something in the future. But for now, their relationship is platonic, the actor insists.
Later in the interview, Costner reminisced about how he and Jewel first met. He detailed a memorable trip they took together with other celebrities to Richard Branson’s private island in December 2023.
“We were down at Branson’s Island; she has a foundation, which I didn’t know … and Richard Branson had been asking me for years to come down to Necker Island and so I finally did,” Costner shared.
He went on to explain, “I’m divorced all of a sudden, I’m a single father, and he’s asked me for ten years to come down there.”

Kevin may be reluctant to share details of his romantic life, if there even is any tea to spill, but his ex-wife hasn’t been shy to flaunt her new romance since settling their divorce earlier this year. Even last year, before the exes reached an agreement, it was reported Christine Baumgartner was getting money from her new beau, as her financial situation took a nosedive following her split from Costner.
Christine, who tried fighting Costner for more spousal and child support than their prenup guarantee, was exposed in court documents for getting a large sum from her boyfriend, Josh Connor, who was originally a family friend to both.
“Christine’s attack [on me] is a smoke screen to deflect attention from her lack of candor regarding her own financial situation,” Kevin’s filing argued. “Christine was forced to admit at her deposition that her brother recently gave her $80,000 and her boyfriend recently gave her $20,000,” it continued.
Christine initially claimed their relationship was platonic and that the money was a loan. But she’s since been seen on PDA-heavy trips with Josh, solidifying their status as a couple.
