After her successful role in American Horror Story, Kim Kardashian will team up once more with Ryan Murphy for All's Fair.

The new Hulu drama is set at a Los Angeles all-female law firm and is described by Murphy as “a high-end, glossy and sexy adult procedural.” Kim, who also executive produces the new show, will portray a famous divorce attorney.

In a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Kim opened up about her character in All's Fair, comparing her to an influential real-world attorney.

"I’m an attorney, and then I’m playing one on TV. It’s really cool."

"I’m like — I’m like your Laura Wasser, if you’ve had to deal with her."

Kim first met Laura when she helped her end her 72-day marriage to NBA player Kris Humphries and later helped her with her bitter battle with ex-husband Kanye West. She explained on her reality show that she had formed a bond with the attorney known as the 'Disso Queen.'

Some believe Kim's outfit was a clear sign she's trying to win her ex back now that he's married to her look-a-like.

"I mean there's even so many fun moments with like Laura (Wasser) and I just like, 'Don't ever let me do this again,' then the next one she would be like, 'Hi, you reminded me last time, don't ever let you do this again," Kim told Ryan Murphy in a filmed discussion on The Kardashians.

When Ryan asked if Laura handled all of her divorces, Kim responded, "Two of them, like enough to know, and I was like, 'On the next one, don't ever let me do this,' you know, and she's just like so funny."

All's Fair will also star Glenn Close, Sarah Paulson, Niecy Nash, Teyana Taylor, and Naomi Watts. It will be written by Jon Robin Baitz, who worked on projects like Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans and West Wing and created the TV drama Brothers & Sisters.

All's Fair is the first show to appear as part of Ryan Murphy’s new Disney deal. As a result, the series is set to stream on Hulu, although no premiere date has been set.

Lawyer Laura Wasser is responsible for negotiating some of the most high-profile Hollywood splits in recent years. She was hired by Kim Kardashian to look at the divorce settlement and worked with Angelina Jolie amid her split from Brad Pitt. She also supported Britney Spears during her split with Kevin Federline and Johnny Depp during his divorce from Amber Heard.

Laura is the managing partner in a firm established by her father, Dennis Wasser, and can oversee up to a hundred cases simultaneously. The Wasser, Cooperman & Mandles’ offices were even featured in the 2019 divorce drama Marriage Story. Laura was reportedly an inspiration for Laura Dern’s Oscar-winning character in the Noah Baumbach movie.

Laura Wasser's firm is also known for doing prenups. In the Coen Brothers film Intolerable Cruelty, they talk about "The Massey Prenup," which is based on the Wasser prenup.

"It’s a very different kind of law because these are people who are getting married, not divorced. We do a lot of them, but those are fast, a month or two. A divorce case will take a year, eighteen months. That’s average for a divorce," explained Laura in an interview with the New Yorker. "I have major A.D.D. if it goes on longer than that I start to get, like, C’mon, let’s move this along. It shouldn’t take longer than that, it really shouldn’t."

Despite being one of the most high-profile divorce lawyers in America, Angelina Jolie and Laura Wasser did not see eye to eye during her divorce from Brad Pitt.

Angelina and Brad first met on the 2003 set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith and started dating publicly a few years later. The pair married in 2014 but split in September 2016, citing irreconcilable differences. The pair share six kids, with whom Brad has a rumored estranged relationship.

Laura had a record of promoting settlements and co-parenting agreements, something Angelina reportedly did not agree with. TMZ reported that Angelina wanted to "kill any relationship [Brad Pitt] has with his kids." In 2018, Laura stopped working for Angelina when the Girl Interrupted actress' legal fight with Brad reportedly became too "venomous and nasty."

Brad's relationship with his six children could get even worse as he apparently fears they're going to turn to the media.

For this reason, Samantha Bley Dejean became Angelina Jolie's lead attorney and took an increasingly aggressive approach in her custody battle, publicly accusing Pitt of paying "no meaningful child support" since their separation. At the time, it was reported that Angelina's hard-nosed attitude toward her ex-husband was not a good fit with Laura's more gentle approach to divorce.

Angelina has decided to change counsel to Samantha Bley Dejean, as Samantha’s expertise is the protection and best interest of children,” Mindy Nyby, a spokesperson for Jolie, explained to People at the time. “Angelina appreciates Laura’s cooperation in transitioning the case over the past several weeks.”

“Angelina decided to put Samantha in charge of her case,” a source close to Angelina and Brad’s custody battle told People. “She put her in the lead a month ago, and over the past month, the case has been fully transitioned to Samantha.”
