Kim Kardashian Slammed For Promoting Skims During LA Wildfires

As the wildfires in LA continue, celebrities and reality TV stars alike find their homes at risk. Some, unfortunately, have already had houses succumb to the flames, like reality star Paris Hilton.

Currently, the battle still continues to get the horrible fires under control. That's why fans were appalled when they noticed LA resident Kim Kardashian promoting her brand Skims during the wildfires.

Kim Picked Poor Marketing Timing

Kim originally got into hot water when she took to Instagram to share images for her clothing brand, Skims, on its official page. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but she chose to post the photos on a day when over 30,000 people had been ordered to evacuate their homes in the greater Los Angeles area.

One of the account's posts advertised enthusiastically with all capitals:

THE WINTER SALE STARTS TOMORROW

"Shop up to 50% off select best-selling collections and start 2025 looking your best in SKIMS," the rest of the post continued.

Fans Online Weren't Having It

The ill-advised timing of the post rubbed more than a handful of people the wrong way. In the comments beneath the photos, followers noted how tone-deaf the advertisements felt. One person even quoted a famous line from Kim's own reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, writing, "Kim there’s people that are dying 🔥."

Another user seemed to summarize the collective feelings about Kim's poor choice:

Imagine still promoting a sale when LA is burning and people are losing their homes

Though it's possible that someone else behind the business may have been responsible for the posts, it appears that fans were still upset not to hear more from the star at its center.
