Kourtney Kardashian’s Disney-Themed Baby Shower Has Caused A Scandal

Over the weekend, Travis and Kourtney hosted a luxury baby shower with a cute Disney theme to celebrate their baby on-the-way.

The expectant reality star shared a variety of footage from the party on her Instagram Story last Sunday. Her uploads provided a sneak peek into the festivities, featuring Mickey Mouse-shaped pancakes, a barbershop quartet, and decorations inspired by Disneyland.

The decorations ranged from vibrant flags and balloons to "Alice in Wonderland" themed green juice. There was even a Wishing Tree and a cake inspired by Steamboat Willie. Many of the Kardashian-Jenner family was present for the affair, along with their children. Both Khloé Kardashian and Kim Kardashian shared photos from the party, showing their kids celebrating their new cousin-to-be.

But while Kourtney’s baby shower seemed like an innocent and child-friendly affair, it quickly caused uproar from the city’s mayor, who said the event was actually a disguise for a much larger Poosh event.

Kourtney Allegedly Committed Fraud By Lying On Her Permit Application

Opening up on Facebook, Malibu Mayor Bruce Silverstein claims that when Kourtney initially filed for a permit to host the event, it was stated that the "baby shower" would have only 96 attendees. Nevertheless, he says the event ended up accommodating a much larger crowd, exceeding 600 guests.

Silverstein titled his Facebook post, “City of Malibu Continues to Place Celebrities and the Uber Wealthy Over Residents: City Staff Sells Out to Kardashian and Grants Emergency Expedited Permit for Large Event in a Vacant Single-Family Home in Private Neighbourhood.”

“As an elected official, however, I am appalled by the situation, and it helps me understand what residents throughout the city are dealing with,” he wrote.

“Not a good look for the city — although it is a great ad to non-residents who want to come here and destroy the residents’ peaceful enjoyment of their homes,” the politician went on.

Moreover, Silverstein shared social media footage from the event, which included signage with the tagline “Poolside with Poosh,” seemingly nothing to do with the baby shower’s Disney theme.

At the end of his post, Silverstein alleged that Kourtney’s actions are tantamount to fraud and called for the city to investigate. “The event planner and property owner both lied in the permit application — just as I told you from the start,” the mayor continued.

“As a resident, I demand that the city take appropriate legal action to address the fraud that was perpetrated by this company,” he stated. “I also request an internal investigation to ascertain whether anyone working for the city was complicit in this matter, as opposed to having been defrauded.”

For now, Kourtney hasn’t directly commented on the fraud allegations.
