What Is The Friendship Status Of Kristen Doute, Stassi Schroeder, And Katie Maloney?

When Vanderpump Rules first aired back in 2013, fans were introduced to SUR restaurant servers Stassi Schroeder, Katie Maloney, and Kristen Doute, who were best friends. They famously called themselves the Witches of WeHo and even launched their own wine brand of the same name.

However, cracks in their friendship began when Kristen revealed she had slept with Stassi's ex-boyfriend, Jax Taylor. Although Kristen made her way back to her friends' group, it really never was the same. Things only began to worsen when she dated Brian Carter in later seasons of VPR.

Now that the women are older and no longer work together on reality TV, fans have wondered if these women have ever mended their friendship. Fans loved watching them on the Bravo show, and Kristen just recently revealed where she stands with both Stassi and Katie today.

Kristen Doute Reveals The Last Time She Spoke To Stassi Schroeder

Fans truly miss the Witches of WeHo (West Hollywood) now that they are no longer sharing a screen. It makes us wonder what Stassi, Katie, and Kristen's relationship is like today, after they moved on from Lisa Vanderpump's SUR, found themselves in committed relationships, and even started families.

Kristen and her fiancé, Luke Broderick, appeared as guests on Bravo's Hot Mic podcast where the former gave an update on where she stands with both Stassi and Katie.

But first, host and executive producer Alex Baskin brought up an older interview from October 2024, in which Kristen mentioned her friendship status with Stassi, in particular. Alex told the VPR alum that she handled that question "maturely" and honestly when she basically shared, "Look, we don't talk, but she was an important part of my life and, you know, so I value that, but we're just in different places."

Speaking to Alex, Kristen admitted that not much has changed.

The last time she spoke to Stassi was when the latter reached out to her when she experienced a miscarriage.

"I mean, the last time I talked to her…I'll say like a year ago when we had our pregnancy last, she was texting me pretty often and being just very loving. The way that I think she just naturally is, especially because we were in each other's lives very close for so long."

In November 2023, Kristen shared on her Sex, Love, and What Else Matters with Kristen Doute podcast (which has since changed to Balancing Act with Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick) that she and Luke experienced a miscarriage at six weeks.

However, since then, Kristen did reveal that she spoke to Stassi one more time.

"As of today, we haven't spoken since I think her anniversary [in September]. I texted her, like a happy anniversary thing. And she was like, ‘Oh, you introduced [me and Beau Clark],'" Kristen said.

Kristen Shared That She Is Still "Close To" Katie Maloney

Kristen also shed some light on her relationship with Katie Maloney. The two were also close friends in earlier seasons of Vanderpump Rules. However, like Stassi, Katie had a tough time seeing Kristen continue to go in circles with her ex, Brian Carter. In an X post, Katie even once called Kristen's relationship with Brian "toxic."

In addition, Katie also shared a screenshot from an Instagram follower summing up how she and Stassi felt about Kristen's relationship and that it was negatively affecting her friendships with both women.

"I think [Kristen] wants to be able to vent every day to them. They want her to be happy but she refuses to make any changes that lead her to happiness.At some point (2 years later) your friend venting about the same issue every day [becomes] a mental drain on you and can even start [affecting] your mental health. I think Katie and Stassi have done as much as they can for [Kristen] but K is unwilling to understand how her toxicity is [affecting] her friends. She [is] so wrapped up in her own problems that she can’t see how she’s [affecting] other around her.”

However, things seem different today as Kristen has moved on with Luke and is starting a family.

On the Hot Mic podcast, Kristen shared that she remains "close to" Katie, but it is still not the same friendship that they once had a long time ago.

"Are we best friends the way that we were? No. We are in very different places in our lives. It's kind of the same thing. I'm closer with Katie, but it's OK for people to just grow apart without there being some big dramatic breakup, strangely enough," Kristen said.

Stassi Admitted That If It Wasn't For The Show, She Would Have Never Forgiven Kristen

Interestingly, Stassi once shared that she would have never reconciled with Kristen following her admission that she slept with Jax. The revelation that the two were intimate, not once, but twice, came out in Season 2 of Vanderpump Rules.

On an episode of her Stassi podcast, she shared that she had forgiven Kristen because she was on reality TV and didn't want to lose her job.

"In real life, I would never have actually like, forgive and forgotten about Jax and Kristen."

She added, "I went back and forgave and forgot so that I could also have my career and my job. And it's not normal. Reality TV is like not a normal thing."

A Reddit thread that discussed the women's fallout also showed commenters agreeing that Stassi would never have mended her friendship with Kristen in real life after she had slept with her ex-boyfriend.

"Def frenemies. Stassi would have never forgiven Kristen for sleeping with Jax if not for the show. [Their] friendship lasted a lot longer than what would have been it’s natural course lol," the comment read.

Despite the ladies' fall out, fans are hoping that they would one day mend their friendship now that Kristen is becoming a mother.

In the same Reddit thread discussing Kristen's Hot Mic interview, a comment read:

"I’m a little sad about this as I loved the witches of WeHo together back in the day but actually in hindsight I do think there was always a bit of a frenemies vibe in their friendship. I’m not really surprised they don’t talk at all anymore especially as Stassi doesn’t really f*** with most of that crowd now. There is not a lot of crossover in their lives that would keep them friendly, although that could change when Kristen has a child as they might get invites to some of the same kids birthdays etc."
