Lady Gaga partly owes her global fame to her wild and outlandish outfit that has helped her draw a huge number of fans. Gaga even admitted to wearing a bulletproof dress to President Biden’s inauguration.

Gaga has been spotted several times rocking some of the most iconic red carpet looks, like at the 2010 Brit Awards when she rocked a high white wig and a voluminous layered white dress.

Lady Gaga admitted to James Corden that she owns about 400 pieces of Michael Jackson’s— the so-called king of pop— wardrobe pieces.

Lady Gaga owns some pretty high-priced outfits, with some having their own museum — it‘s understandable why Gaga would hire security guards for her wardrobe.

Gaga has quite an admiration for the “Smooth Criminal” singer that she has spent quite some dough to own several items Michael Jackson possessed when he was alive. In a 2012 auction held by Julien's Auctions, the pop star splashed millions of dollars to purchase not one, not two, but 55 MJ-owned wardrobe pieces.

“A Thriller jacket, one of his gloves, and many tour costumes. I keep them in a temperature-controlled room, so they can be preserved for the rest of time,” Lady Gaga told James regarding her purchases.

Gaga didn't reveal the exact cost of her MJ goods, but in 2011, a less-famous person purchased Jackson's Thriller jacket for $1.8 million. It's unclear how the jacket later wound up in Gaga's possession, but it would make sense if she paid more than $1.8 million for the piece.

As far as what she's doing with them, Gaga has been seen rocking some of these pieces like during Hillary Clinton’s final campaign event in North Carolina. She rocked the same black and red military-esque ensemble MJ wore to the White House in 1990 when he met with President George H. W. Bush.

Prolific singer and writer Lady Gaga has regularly mentioned Michael Jackson as a big inspiration for whom she has grown to be as an artist.

“Michael’s death was devastating for me, regardless of whether I was supposed to go on tour with him. He’s such an inspiration and remarkable human being,” Gaga told Larry King in an interview.

She must really admire him, to say the least. Even in the wake of the documentary film Leaving Neverland, which resurfaces abuse claims against the King of Pop, Gaga remains a superfan.

Gaga once tweeted of MJ, “The bigger the star, the bigger the target - Michael Jackson.”
