Vanderpump Rules alum Lala Kent shocked fans when she announced in a November 2024 episode of her Give Them Lala podcast that her personal assistant and podcast co-host, Jessica Walter, would no longer be working for her. Lala didn't give much detail as to why Jessica was suddenly leaving, but it kept many fans up at night.
Jessica broke her silence, but still, fans weren't given much information as to what exactly happened between the two women. Jessica was first introduced to VPR viewers in Season 9, when Lala needed a personal assistant. They immediately clicked after the mom of two shared that their zodiac signs matched up perfectly.
Before the new year, Lala finally addressed Jessica's sudden departure. However, fans are wondering if it's just another bridge she's burned, as she's done with her co-stars.

Lala Kent Admits Her Podcast Co-Host And Assistant Jessica Walters Wanted To "Move On With Her Life"
Vanderpump Rules alum Lala Kent was a guest on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast where she finally addressed her former assistant and podcast co-host, Jessica Walter's, abrupt departure. Both of the women stayed quiet about the real reason for Jessica suddenly leaving, but Lala hinted in her interview that her former assistant was moving on to bigger things in her life.
"It’s so odd, because it’s like where were you when she was on the pod? Nowhere to be found. All I heard about was ‘get her off’ and now it’s like, you know what people, at the end of the day she was my employee. She wanted to go and move on with her life, and I would be like a crazy person to not say ‘go and achieve everything you want to achieve," she told host Amanda Hirsch.
Lala appeared to state that it was a very simple reason why Jessica wanted to leave, but fans were trying to blame the reality TV star for possibly firing Jessica out of nowhere.
"People are wanting an explanation. I'm like I don't know how to break this down ... go be free, fly."
When Amanda asked the VPR alum if Jessica was the one who choose to leave her position, Lala told the host, "Yes." In addition, she stated that Jessica shouldn't have to give an explanation as to why she left.
Lala was then asked if she regretted bringing Jessica into her close circle.
After Jessica was hired by the mom of two, the women grew extremely close. Jessica was even present in the delivery room when Lala gave birth to her second daughter, Sosa, in September.
"I’ve learned a lot in my many relationships in my life, from my ex-fiancé to certain friends that I’ve had to employees that I’ve had. Every single thing that I’ve experienced in the past two to three years I’ve learned something from, I don’t regret anything, but I know how to make things different," Lala said.

Jessica Addressed Fans About Leaving And Liked A Comment About Her Former Employer Handling Her Departure "Poorly"
In a November episode of the Give Them Lala podcast, Lala revealed that Jessica would no longer be working for her, and that included being a co-host on the podcast. When sharing what her "ache and relief of the week" was, Lala shared, "My ache is that my ride or die, Jessica, is no longer going to be working for me, and she is no longer going to be on the podcast."
She added, "My relief is that she’s going to spread her wings.”
It did sound like Lala was stating that Jessica was moving forward with bigger things in her career. However, on that same day, Jessica posted a photo of herself with the caption, "One foot in front of the other, y'all," on Instagram. Fans found her post to be very telling, especially since Lala was known to cut ties with people, including most of her VPR co-stars, after the Season 11 reunion.
A commenter on Jessica's Instagram post wrote, "kind of weird to be in the room with someone when they deliver their baby and then the next month you up and quit 🤨🤨"
Others had their own opinions on why Jessica left, "sooo can you start your own pod now.."
According to Us Weekly, after Lala told her listeners that Jessica was no longer working for her, the latter liked a comment that read: "This was handled so poorly. Not your fault but we listen to a pod with the three of you on the reg and have no answers. No send off or anything."
Over a week after Lala made the announcement, Jessica broke her silence. However, it appeared that the former personal assistant never got the appropriate send-off on Give them Lala. This still did not sit right with fans because it sounded very cryptic.
"Of course I would have said goodbye to you guys if I were given the opportunity. Of course. I would want to say how much I love and appreciate just connecting with all of you. So, I’ll say that now. Right now, on behalf of my position on the Give Them Lala podcast, goodbye. And I love every single one of you. I hope we stay connected. That is all I will say for now."

Lala Doesn't Speak To Many Of Her Vanderpump Rules Cast
People have taken aim at Lala for Jessica's sudden departure because of her habit of removing people out of her life at the drop of a hat. On a December 6 episode of the Scheananigans with Scheana Shay podcast, Lala shared that she liked keeping a small circle of friends and was happy to cut people out of her life.
"I've always said, I like my circle to be small, and the smaller, the better. It's like this right now. I'd like to get it down to about that."
She then may have shocked listeners when she said:
"It's no secret that I am really fond of burning the bridge. I love doing it."
Lala explained, "If any of them at some point don't bring me peace or I feel I don't wanna bring them peace, then I look forward to throwing gasoline on the bridge and lighting a fire. It's like my favorite thing to do." Is this what happened between her and Jessica?
The month before appearing on Scheana's podcast, Lala joined Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live and admitted that she no longer speaks to most of her Vanderpump Rules co-stars. Lala revealed that she had not spoken to Ariana Madix or Katie Maloney since the dramatic Season 11 reunion.
However, she had nothing but great things to say about the two women, especially when it came to seeing them thrive in their careers post-VPR. "Even if we don't talk, of course, I want to see them succeed. I love a good sandwich!" Lala said with regard to Ariana and Katie's eatery, Something About Her.
