What Is Lala Kent And Randall Emmett's Relationship Like Today?

When Vanderpump Rules alum Lala Kent began to date film producer Randall Emmett in 2015, she kept their relationship and even his identity a secret from her cast mates. Rumors spread that Lala may have been Randall's mistress—he purchased her a Range Rover after their first date, and he allegedly made her friends sign NDAs.

After his divorce from his wife was finalized in 2017, Lala went public with their relationship. In Season 8, Randall started popping up on VPR. In 2018, the two got engaged, and, in 2021, the reality TV star gave birth to their daughter, Ocean.

That same year, Lala split from the movie producer after he had reportedly cheated on her. Ever since then, Lala has kept quite a distance from her ex. She has slammed his parenting and even once admitted that the two hadn't been intimate since the arrival of their daughter.

Lala Kent Revealed That She Now Speaks To Her Ex, Randall Emmett

Ever since her split from Randall Emmett in 2021, Lala Kent has slammed ther father of her daughter left and right. She once shared that the film producer was the "worst thing" to ever happen to her and even exposed their sex life when she revealed in an episode of VPR that "the sex was not good with my ex [Randall]," adding, "I haven't had an orgasm—a real one that I haven't faked—since 2016."

However, it looks like time has healed some wounds for Lala. Appearing as a guest on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast in January, Lala revealed to host Amanda Hirsch that she is on speaking terms with Randall. "It’s so crazy what time does."

"Time has gone on you know, he and I have learned to like to be productive in conversations."

She continued, "And we still have ups and downs but it’s like, let’s look at the one thing we have in common and that’s Ocean and looking out for her best interest. It’s wild what time does."

However, Lala clarified that the two only speak about the well-being of their daughter, Ocean. Still, it's a big improvement from how their relationship once was when they split in October 2021.

"I wouldn’t say we’re good. We have one thing in common, and that’s our daughter. And when we have conversations, we stick to that, and they’re productive conversations," Lala expressed.

Lala split with Randall after she discovered photos of him with other women while on a trip to Nashville. She's since accused him of cheating on her with several women over the course of their relationship.

In 2022, The Los Angeles Times published an exposé on Randall. Titled, "The man who played Hollywood: Inside Randall Emmett’s crumbling empire," the article accused the producer of allegedlly offering roles to women in exchange for sex.

Lala Once Wanted "Zero Contact" With Her Ex

Speaking to Randall is a huge development for the mom of two as she was using a parenting app to speak to her ex about their daughter Ocean. In an interview with Page Six shortly after their split she shared, "He and I don’t communicate much. We send very short messages through an app about Ocean and then we call it a day. I am only interested in talking about Ocean and things that concern her."

When Lala and Randall were together, she got a tattoo that read, "Rand" on her arm. She later changed it to read, "bRand new."

A year later, the Give Them Lala businesswoman admitted on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that she wanted "zero contact" with Randall. "We parallel parent and I’m trying to move to zero contact. We will see how that goes.”

In September 2022, Lala told People that her relationship with her ex was pretty much non-existent unless it had something to do with Ocean. In fact, she even revealed that she hadn't seen him since she left him in 2021.

"We only communicate about Ocean, and it’s very quick and simple. I haven’t seen him since the day I left him, and I think I want to forever keep it that way," she told the outlet.

Lala, along with her VPR cast members Scheana Shay and Tom Schwartz will appear on Season 2 of The Valley.

In 2022, Lala celebrated her one-year "independence" from Randall. In an Instagram Story, she shared (via People),"Happy Independence Day to me. A year ago I had my ducks in a row and it was time to execute my game plan of escaping a toxic and unsafe place. Even writing this, my heart has started pounding. I didn't know what my future would hold."

She added, "But I had to carry on, without skipping a beat- my daughter needed me," she wrote. "And when it all became too much, I would hand it over to God and the universe. I knew they would cradle me. They did & have ever since."

Lala Welcomed Her Second Child Using A Sperm Donor

In Season 11 of Vanderpump Rules, Lala goes on a journey to find the perfect sperm donor to conceive her second child. The reality star even throws a party at Lisa Vanderpump's Villa Rosa home in which her guests go over the backgrounds of specific sperm donors and decide on one.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan, the reality star opened up about using intrauterine insemination (IUI). Lala has been outspoken about giving her daughter, Ocean, a sibling. She wasn't going to wait to find a partner to do so.

"I knew I wanted more kids. It was such a strange thing that was happening because everyone would tell me, 'You’re going to find somebody.' And I got to thinking, 'Why does my wanting more children need to involve another person?'"

She added, "I think if there’s a will, there’s a way. I knew a donor was an option, and I knew IUI was an option. I felt this need to start talking about it because there are women out in the world who sit there and wait for a man to come into the picture and are just yearning for children even though there is another way to get pregnant. If you want children and are only waiting for 'that person' to come into your life, let’s talk about a different route that we can take."

During the Season 11 reunion, Lala wore a beautiful lilac gown that showed her growing baby bump. In September 2024, Lala announced the arrival of her second daughter, Sosa Kent.

"Two weeks ago, on September 3rd, I welcomed my second baby girl, Sosa Kent. I’ve been open about my dream of this moment- at 10:13pm the moment came true. My little dream baby entered the world. I am completely in love with her- We all are. Sosa, you have no idea what you have brought into my life," she wrote on Instagram.
