When it comes to reality television, the Kardashian family have more than conquered the genre. From their television series to their presence in the tabloids to their following on social media, this infamous clan has helped redefine celebrity for a new generation.

Their first series, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, made such an impression, the family wasn't finished when it ended. They quickly premiered a new series, The Kardashians, which picked up where the former left off.

In one episode of the latest series, former couple Khloé Kardashian and Lamar Odom reunite for the first time in nearly nine years. The two shared a sweet moment together when talking about Khloé's son, Tatum. However, Lamar revealed that he didn't know the reunion would be filmed.

Lamar Shared A Sweet Moment With Khloé During An Episode Of The Kardashians

Lamar Odom and Khloé Kardashian reunited for the first time since 2016 in the season six premiere of The Kardashians. The former couple met up at the home of Khloé's best friend Malika Haqq. Lamar then spotted a picture of Khloé with her son Tatum on her phone.

Lamar said he was feeling “out of body right now, a little bit.” He then turned his attention to Khloé's screensaver. “He look like you a lot. Your little boy look like you a lot.” “That’s what people say,” Khloé said in response.

Khloé and Lamar got married in 2009 and their union lasted until 2016. The couple had previously split up in 2013, citing Lamar's struggles with drug addiction as the reason. Lamar spoke about his reunion with Khloé on The Kyle & Jackie O Show and revealed how it came to be.

“Me and Khloé have a mutual friend, her name is Malika [Haqq],” Lamar said. “I bumped into her in Las Vegas I think it was Super Bowl weekend. She came to me, and said, ‘You know Lamar, I think it’s time for you and Khloé…it’s been years. You haven’t seen her if you’re up for it. I think I could make it happen.’” Surprisingly, Lamar didn't know that cameras would be capturing the moment beforehand. “I went there, and it was cameras there,” he admitted. “It’s cool, I understand it.”

He also used the appearance as an opportunity to shut down rumors the two were getting back together. “I wouldn’t say back together,” Lamar said. “It would be a blessing to be her friend.” When asked why he wouldn't consider rekindling their romance, Lamar said, “So much time has passed and people change. I think it’s healthy sometimes to move on. In a healthy way. Like I said, it would be a blessing to be her friend just to be around her.”

In the trailer for the show, Khloé is heard saying, "I think timing is everything," in a confessional. She then recounts the moment to sister Kim and mother Kris Jenner. Lamar walks in with a bouquet of flowers and the camera cuts to Kris, who tearfully says, "That was the love of her life." Khloé then said, "I don't know this person anymore."

Lamar suffered a near-fatal overdose in 2015 when he was found unconscious in a brothel in Nevada. Since the divorce was not yet finalized at the time, Khloé made the decision to cancel the proceedings as he continued to recover. Khloé would file for divorce a second time the following year.

Khloé Opened Up About Lamar Cheating During The Majority Of Their Marriage

Khloé and Lamar dealt with issues during their marriage, with infidelity being one of them. Khloé opened up to Howard Stern about this particular problem in 2016. According to the reality star, she never suspected he was being unfaithful.

"Lamar was so great at making me feel like I was the only one and I'm this princess," she told the radio host. "I never speculated cheating." Khloé went on to tell Howard that Lamar would have his assistant contact women for him, or he would use a phone different from his own. "He was really crafty," she revealed. "It was disgusting and I was pissed at the assistant."

Khloé told Howard that she believed Lamar had a "sex addiction," even though she didn't "know if I believe in a sex addiction that much." Despite cheating for the majority of their marriage, Khloé said that she believes Lamar truly loved her. "I know he loves me. I know we loved each other. I don't question those feelings," she told Howard. While this was difficult for Khloé, it unfortunately wouldn't be the last time she dealt with a man who was unfaithful to her.

Following her divorce from Lamar, Khloé dated NBA player Tristan Thompson. Their on and off relationship endured many cheating scandals, before the two split up for good in 2021. The former couple remain friends to this day while coparenting Tatum and their older daughter, True.

Khloé shares a lot about her life on her podcast Khloé in Wonder Land. One of the more challenging times Khloé spoke about was her choice to let Tristan stay in the delivery room while she gave birth to True. The reason this was a tough decision was because it took place 48 hours after she found out that he cheated on her.

“Well the crazy thing is I would draw back to the feelings I had with Lamar [Odom] — Lamar was my first husband —where I would say, ‘Okay.’ I knew how to deal with this media scandal," Khloé said. "And I was in Cleveland, Ohio so like let me just stay here for a little bit because that’s where I gave birth."

Khloé told listeners that one of the ways she was able to come to the decision and handle it was by not giving Tristan's actions any power. "And I remember when Tristan had an affair, it was public and I gave birth 48 hours later. And people were like, ‘Do you want him in the hospital room when you’re giving birth?’ And it was my first baby and I said, ‘I do,'" she explained.

"I was thinking for my daughter True," Khloé continued. "And I get sad if I ever see myself because I can tell I’m blank and it’s an out-of-body experience. I just went into autopilot. And I just went into, I’m not here, I was not present. But my body was there, I gave birth, I did what I had to do. But it was for her. I thought of her. I was like, ‘For her memories, I want her to know her dad was in the room.’ And then when it was done, I was like, ‘I can’t talk to you’ when I put my home camera down. But I made sure to do what I needed to do for her."

Khloé Said That Lamar Was Aggressive In The Beginning And It Was A 'Turn On'

In a June 2024 episode of The Kardashians, Khloé was looking back on the way Lamar pursued her in the early stages of their relationship. Khloé reminisced while talking with Malika about the struggles she was having in the dating world. "He never stopped texting me last night, I just didn't respond," Malika told Khloé about a guy she was talking to at the time. Khloé then responded, "Oh, I love a person who knows what they want."

"The best thing Lamar did — well, not the best thing, he did a lot of good things — but when I wouldn't give him my number but then he found out that we had the same business manager," she remembered. "And then [he] was hounding Lester for my info. It was a turn on, it's sexy… you want a little aggressiveness."

Khloé continued, "I also don't think it's good when we're both comfortable being single, without wanting to date," before she said she would eventually start dating again. "It's a scary world out there, there's phones everywhere. I definitely think what I've been through is a factor why I'm not just like, 'Let's just start dating again!'"
