Lily-Rose Depp's Battle With Anorexia

In this day and age, it is no secret that everyone who is famous has to deal with the unforgiving gaze of the public. For example, when a star says the wrong thing, that can lead to their career and life being decimated. In fact, Lily-Rose Depp almost was canceled once after claims of racism. Fortunately for her, Lily-Rose’s friends came to her defense and people realized there was evidence to back up the accusation against her.

Sadly, it is known that many female stars have dealt with eating disorders over the last several years. Of course, it is a good thing that many of those celebrities who have gone through that are willing to discuss their battle so that other people know they aren’t alone. On the other hand, it is extremely unfortunate that so many celebrities have struggled with eating disorders, and it seems all but certain that the harsh spotlight they are under plays a major role in that.

Of course, celebrities have to deal with a lot more than just the fear of being canceled. For example, many people feel the need to judge the way celebrities look in the harshest ways possible. Considering that Lily-Rose Depp rose to fame during her late teens, and that is a vulnerable time in anyone’s life, dealing with that kind of judgment must have been extremely hard. On top of that, everyone knows that women’s bodies are judged much more harshly than men’s so the expectations that Lily-Rose must have felt pressured to live up to are nearly impossible.

When Lily-Rose Depp appeared on the cover of French Elle, it had to be a major moment in her career and life. After all, being chosen to grace the cover of a major publication like that is a big deal. In her case, being covered by French Elle was important for another reason: Lily-Rose addressed her battle with anorexia and how hard it is to deal with the disease for the first time in public.

“It hurts a lot and depresses me, because I have spent a lot of energy fighting the disease. I was much younger, when I faced with anorexia, it was very difficult to deal with it. All who are familiar with this problem, know how difficult it is to return to a normal life.”

Lily-Rose Depp Had Another Serious Health Scare Following An E.Coli Infection

In late-2020, Johnny Depp was presented with the inaugural Rhonda’s Kiss Healing and Hope Award for his support of cancer patients in need. During his acceptance speech, Depp spoke about visiting sick children who are dealing with the disease in the hospital and being able to empathize with their parents. As Depp revealed, when his daughter was still a child, Lily-Rose contracted an E.coli infection which became so serious that Johnny was left unsure she would survive as her kidney shut down.

“To the parents in the room who I was speaking about earlier, who I have seen melting and their own form of courage. I was one of those parents, for weeks, when my daughter was ill... I lived in the [London] hospital for three weeks with my girl and my kid, not knowing if she was going to make it or not. Parents, please note that you have my utter respect. Please note that you have all my respect, and you have my promise to continue to fight, this noble fight right alongside you at any time. And, we’ll just never give up. It’s as simple as that,”
