With the ninth season of Summer House now over, there has been a lot of talk about who will return and who is saying farewell to the Hamptons. Shortly after the season concluded, Paige DeSorbo announced that she was no longer going to bed rot with her girls after starring on the show for five seasons.
Following Paige's announcement, one-season star Lexi Woods also shared that she will not return to the show. Fans have since been waiting to see who else will announce their departure, and if a cast overhaul may even be in the works.
However, with Season 9 ending on a surprising note as Paige and Amanda Batula met Lindsay’s daughter, Gemma, fans are now speculating whether the finale was actually setting the stage for a spinoff centered around the women.
Could There Really Be A Summer House Spinoff With Lindsay Hubbard And Paige DeSorbo?
The idea of a Summer House spinoff starring the ladies of the Hamptons has been a hot topic since Season 9 wrapped. The finale, which featured Amanda Batula and Paige DeSorbo visiting Lindsay Hubbard at her NYC apartment to meet her newborn daughter Gemma, gave off major Sex and the City vibes. It has left fans buzzing about the potential for a friendship-driven spinoff that they'd love to watch.
In an interview with Us Weekly in June, Lindsay appeared to hint that this spinoff may actually be in the works!
"I think fans are onto something," Lindsay shared while winking at the camera.
In the same interview, Lindsay was also asked about Paige's exit from Summer House after five seasons. Although fans were sad to see her go, Lindsay suggested that she might make a few guest appearances. "I don't think she's gonna be gone forever. I don't think, you know, we can fully let her go," she said.
As for Lindsay, she has previously stated that she won't be a main cast member for Season 10 because of her young daughter. However, she told the outlet that she would make plenty of trips to the shared house. "I'm around, right? I think that that’s what, like, normal people do in New York City is we have kids, and we still go to the Hamptons, but it just looks a little different," she shared.
Lindsay continued, "I’m not gonna be sleeping at the summer house every single weekend. But I am probably gonna visit and pop by and I’ll be in the Hamptons."
Paige DeSorbo Once Shared She's Open To "All Possibilities Of TV"
Paige seemed to also hint that although she was leaving Summer House, her career on reality TV wasn't totally over. In her exit statement, she shared, "And you haven’t seen the last of me, I promise. So much more to do together, but for now you know you can always find me and Daphne in my bed."
In an interview with Parade, Paige shared that she would find herself back on television in some way or another. "I love attention, so I love being on TV. I’m very open to, like, all possibilities of TV stuff." However, she told the outlet that she and her Summer House cast mates would be the last to know about a potential spinoff — unless, of course, she's keeping a juicy secret under wraps.
"So if there were to be a spinoff, you guys would literally find out before me. I have no idea, and everything I read or I see, I read it online too," she shared.
After Paige's Summer House exit announcement, she launched her pajama line, Daphne, named after her cat. However, the collection has since sold out online.
Paige's Summer House best friend, Amanda, recently shared that she was "expecting" Paige to leave after the ninth season. She recalled Paige FaceTiming her and Ciara to tell them the news. "She FaceTimed me and Ciara [Miller] and told us, and it was really tough to hear," she shared with The Post.
Amanda added, "I think I was sort of expecting it just because she had such a rough time last summer, and you can really tell that her anxiety was taking her over. She stayed back a few Fridays, would stay back a weekend. She was really struggling, and I think that it’s the best decision for her.
Season 9 followed Paige struggling with the idea of breaking up with Southern Charm star Craig Conover. By the end of the season, Paige discusses the aftermath of their split at Lindsay's house.
Despite this, Amanda told The Post that she also doesn't think it's the last time fans will see Paige. "I’m calling it taking a summer off. I’d like to think that she’s not done. I know that she is not done with TV," the reality TV star said.
Lindsay And Paige Have Formed A Surprising New Friendship
Lindsay and Paige did not exactly see eye to eye during their time living togehter in the Hamptons. Paige gravitated towards both Amanda Batula and Ciara Miller instantly, forming a tight-knit trio that remained solid season after season. Meanwhile, Gabby Prescod was brought in after Danielle Olivera's departure to even the friend dynamic. Despite past tensions, Paige and Lindsay managed to co-exist, and by Season 9, they turned a corner. They even made a drive to the Hamptons together, signaling a surprise shift in their relationship.
In an interview with Us Weekly, Paige expressed that their new friendship came about thanks to Lindsay's pregnancy.
"I feel like the boys couldn’t really understand what we were all feeling, but we were watching our friend have this baby," she began. "And, like, I’d never really been around a pregnant person that much, and I certainly have never been around a woman, like, each week where I’m like watching her grow. So, I literally felt like we were in this with her."
