As longtime Shameless fans will no doubt remember, Jeremy Allen White’s character Lip Gallagher got involved with Mandy Milkovich early in the show’s run. Unfortunately for Mandy, she always was more smitten with Lip than the other way around. In real life, however, White and the actor who brought Mandy to life, Emma Greenwell, were dedicated to one another for years before going their separate ways.
After Jeremy Allen White and Emma Greenwell split up, he went on to get involved with Addison Timlin. As White’s fans would come to learn, he’d been friends with Timlin for many, many years before their relationship suddenly took a turn towards the romantic. After dating for quite a while, White and Timlin got married in 2020 and they have welcomed two children into the world together.
Jeremy Allen White Reacts To Thirst Tweets
In decades past, stars who made the rounds to promote their upcoming projects would solely take part in a series of interviews on talk shows and with reporters. Thanks to YouTube, however, stars now routinely appear in a series of unique videos during the promotion process. For example, loads of celebrities have appeared on Hot Ones, a show where they eat ten hot wings one at a time with each one becoming spicier until they are way too hot. Similarly, Buzzfeed has had a long list of stars who were on a promotional tour react to thirst tweets about them on camera.
When Jeremy Allen White was promoting The Rental in 2020, he took part in a Buzzfeed thirst trap video where people commented about him and his most famous character. Unsurprisingly, most of the thirst tweets about himself that White read on camera were pretty intense. “Jeremy Allen White is honestly one of the most gorgeous people alive holy crap” “I really want to start a new blog just for Jeremy Allen white’s butt i mean have u seen that thing daymmm” “I would bottom for Lip Gallagher” “I really wish Jeremy Allen White had a twitter so I could tell him about every elaborate fantasy I’ve had that involved him. I’m in love.”
After Jeremy Allen White read the first thirst trap tweet in the aforementioned video, he seemed to take the compliment in stride when he said “that’s really, really nice”. From there, White seemed to take some joy in the fact that someone paid a compliment to his butt. “That’s funny. I feel like I have such a nonexistent, um, butt. My wife always makes fun of my butt.” As the video progressed, however, and the thirst tweets about him became more intense, White notably seemed to become more and more uncomfortable. In fact, after reading one thirst tweet about his Shameless character, White rebuked the writer by saying “I would say, Lip Gallagher wouldn’t be into it. Nor I”. Finally, in the closing seconds of the video, White comments “I don’t have Twitter so a lot of that is brand spanking new ideas. I think it’s the reason I will continue to not have Twitter.”
Based on what White had to say in the aforementioned thirst tweets video, it seems like he has mixed feelings about fans thirsting after him. After all, White seemed to enjoy people complimenting his looks at first but he appeared to become overwhelmed pretty quickly.
