Lisa Barlow is facing heat after going on a rant on-air about Meredith Marks, her Real Housewives castmate and friend of over 10 years.
In Episode 10 of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City's second season drama ensued at the ladies' Cinco de Mayo dinner. Lisa finally went off after feeling like Meredith Marks had not defended her at all this season.
So what did Lisa say, what led up to the whole scene, and how did it play out?
The Drama That Led Up To Lisa's Hot Mic-Moment
It all started when Lisa Barlow stormed off from the dinner table when drama broke out between all the women. The talk of the night was whether Meredith was lying about the date of her father's memorial.
The question was related to the cast's recent trip to Vail when Jen Shah was arrested moments before the bus ride. When Meredith wasn't on the bus the day of the arrest, it left fans and the cast to speculate whether she knew something.
Meredith told the women she could not go on the bus with them because she had the memorial to attend. Lisa even called Meredith to update her on Shah's arrest later, apologizing at the end of the call for disrupting Meredith's time with her family.
All the women thought that was the reason Meredith did not take the bus ride with them and were later confused when Meredith stated the memorial was actually the day before the arrest instead. Leaving the big question: why didn't she take the bus ride to Vail?
At the Cinco de Mayo dinner, the women start hashing loads of drama with each other, with most of the blame falling on Lisa. Jen Shah questioned Lisa's loyalty to her and Mary Cosby made remarks about Lisa's diet. Cosby said that Lisa's love for Taco Bell and candy shows she has "no depth."
Lisa finally stormed off, and left the table when she felt like no one had her back. Especially because Meredith has a close friendship with Mary who was constantly berating Lisa at the dinner table. As she storms off we hear her go on a heated rant about Meredith.
Lisa goes on to say she is done with Meredith, accusing her of cheating on her husband with multiple men, and that she hates her. Lisa isn't proud of her what was said when she hit her boiling point. She calls it offensive that Meredith would even try to say she has had her back.
Lisa Barlow and Meredith Marks' Friendship
Lisa and Meredith were friends before they both started the show. Their friendship was ten years strong when the show aired. They were seen as the closest duo when the show premiered.
In season 1 they were best friends, even called each other sisters because of their resemblance. It all went downhill with the combined drama of the first and second seasons of the show.
As Lisa grew closer to Jen Shah, it put a rift between her and Meredith. Even further, when Meredith grew closer to Mary, it rubbed Lisa the wrong way. Fans watched as Meredith and Lisa slowly grew apart. It all came to a head when the hot-mic moment happened.
Meredith hadn't known about the rant Lisa went on until the day before the reunion when she watched the episode it aired in.
The Aftermath Of The Hot-Mic Moment
The big question still remains: are Lisa and Meredith still friends after what happened? On Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Meredith says she does not know what even triggered the blow-up from Lisa. Although she did say she had certain clues that these feelings from Lisa were present.
Meredith has since deleted her birthday post for Lisa and does not follow her on Instagram anymore. Although Lisa still follows Meredith and has kept up her birthday post for her.
The other castmates have opinions about it as well. Whitney Rose thinks Lisa Barlow meant for the rant to be heard. Whitney and Lisa have had quite the drama in the past. In the first season, Whitney constantly felt that Lisa was dismissive of her and felt belittled by Lisa.
The other women have not commented, but the moment is a big topic in the reunion, leaving room to hear everyone's opinions.
In a new preview of the reunion, Lisa is seen storming off the set after everyone begins confronting her about the hot-mic moment. She blames producers for even airing it.
Although it isn't for sure where Lisa and Meredith stand, fans can assume that the hot-mic moment could be the end of their long-term friendship.
