Alexa And Brennon Lemieux Reflect On Their Marriage

'Love Is Blind' Alexa and Brennon Lemieux

Alexa and Brennon, now Mr. and Mrs. Lemieux, met and married on season 3 of Netflix’s Love Is Blind, and time has only strengthened their bond.

"It doesn't feel like three years," Alexa said in an interview with PEOPLE. "When I go through old pictures and stuff, I can see that it's been three years, but it feels like in some ways so much longer, like we've been married forever. At the same time, three years, it really flew by."

They also reflected on how different their relationship would have been had they met in a more traditional way instead of through a reality show, but they have no regrets about how things turned out.

"I think about if we had met normally and we got married normally and how different my vows would be, how different the day would've been," Alexa went on. "I just felt like I loved him so much at that time and it's funny looking back because I did love him, but just comparing to how much I love him now, it's so different."

Brennon also pointed out that, while they were very exposed once their season aired, they feel lucky to have had enough time to be a couple outside of the public eye before getting so much attention.

"For me, it's an interesting perspective because we had a year and a half almost before the show came out. So it's like we had a relationship and then out of nowhere it's just like people are like, 'Wait, y'all are married?' So it's weird. It's kind of a weird transition," he laughed.

Alexa And Brennon Are Expecting A Child

Just a few months ago, Alexa and Brennon announced that they were taking the next step in their marriage and were expecting a baby.

This was something that they both really wanted, and it took all of their willpower to keep the secret for a few months.

"We wanted this to happen and so we're just grateful to be here. It's been such a big part of my life [and] I'm the worst secret keeper... so I'm ready for it to be out there!" Alexa laughed.

It was a long journey for them, and it really tested their love and Alexa's insecurities. It took a year and a half and some fertility treatments for them to get pregnant, and in a moment of fear, she asked Brennon, "Did you wish you married someone different that could have given you a child?"

Her husband immediately reassured her, though.

"He's like, 'Alexa, what's going to happen is going to happen. I love you no matter what...' it's a lot. It's a lot to process and a lot to go through."

With parents who love each other like that, their kid will have a very happy childhood.
