It seems that there was trouble in paradise for a former notorious Love Is Blind couple. Earlier this week, former cast member Sarah Ann Bick confirmed to her followers that she had officially broken up with her now ex-boyfriend Jeramey Lutinski.

Their breakup marks the end of what was a very controversial relationship right from the start. Throughout their season of the hit reality TV series, Sarah Ann and Jeramey drew criticism from fellow cast members and fans alike for some of their unpopular choices. So what happened that ultimately caused the pair to split?

Sarah Ann Cleared The Air About The Split On Social Media

Sarah Ann took to social media to share her side of the story with her followers. On her Instagram account, she posted videos of herself speaking to her fans about what really went down between her and her ex. Apparently, when she'd previously posted on her Instagram stories informing people that the two of them had gone their separate ways, she'd been inundated with questions from fans about what had happened and where things had gone wrong.

In the video, Sarah Ann expressed that she was surprised that her stories had gotten such buzz online, which then prompted her to post longer clips about the topic. She started off by saying that, unlike what many people tuning in may have been expecting, their breakup wasn't as drama-filled as people might've been imagining.

How Love Is Blind Casts Its Singles And What It Takes To Get Noticed

Each season of Love is Blind is full of big personalities, so how does Netflix cast for this show of singles looking for love, sight unseen.

Sarah Ann added this disclaimer to those watching the video:

I'm going to disappoint a lot of you because this video isn't intended to bash anyone. I do feel it's my time to share my side of the story because Jeramy gave his side of the story.

She continued to speak positively about Jeramy, noting that the way he was portrayed on the show wasn't consistent with the man she knew. "I think Jeramy did a great job of defending his character," she said. "I want to put that out there." Sarah Ann went on to share that, though the pair were together for "a year and some change," things started to get rocky after the Love Is Blind reunion.

Sarah Ann Explained How Things Took A Turn For The Worse

In her video, Sarah Ann revealed that Jeramy actually didn't want to film the reunion episode, but that the pair ended up doing it anyway. Afterwards, she said the two of them weren't getting along because of the pressures they were under, particularly because of all the hate they were each receiving online, which felt inescapable at the time.

Sarah Ann was candid about the toll that the online hatred took on both her and Jeramy, adding how it ended up making them feel pitted against each other:

It's easy to start to blame [your partner]. I know on my end, I started to feel a little bit of resentment towards Jeramy because I didn't feel supported in certain situations, and I know that Jeramy equally felt some resentment towards me.

It seems that the vitriol that the pair was facing from their unfavorable Love Is Blind edits affected their relationship in a way that wound up being irreparable. "The hatred and the social media impacted our relationship greatly," she admitted, "This is in no way one person's fault. It's mutual in the aspect that we both contributed to the issues in our relationship."

Stacy Snyder provided fans with the after the altar reveal that no one was expecting.

No doubt the pair was facing as much online backlash as they were because of the way in which they first got together. Throughout the season, Jeramy was originally engaged to Laura Dadisman, whom he initially proposed to in the pods. While the two seemed to have great chemistry in the early stages of the experiment, things grew rocky as soon as they set foot in the real world.

Things got particularly dramatic when Jermay went out with some other cast members one night and didn't return home until the early hours of the morning. When Laura questioned him who he'd been with, it came out that he'd spent a lot of time talking to Sarah Ann alone, who was one of his other strongest connections in the pods. Hearing this upset Laura, and she eventually went on to accuse him of cheating on her with Sarah Ann, something which Jeramy has always denied.

Love Is Blind’s Jeremy Hartwell Sued The Show’s Producers And Was Awarded $1.4 Million

Love Is Blind’s Jeremy Hartwell sued over the show's treatment of its cast and won a staggering $1.4 million decision in court.

In the end, Laura called off their engagement over the incident, and after that point Jeramy and Sarah Ann got together. By the time the reunion was filmed, Sarah Ann reported that she and Jeramy were already living together. Sarah Ann and Jeramy's edit on the show often made them seem like they had little remorse or empathy for Laura's situation, and fans criticized them for flaunting their interest in each other in Laura's face so shortly after her breakup with Jeramy.

Perhaps somewhat ironically, it seems that Sarah Ann and Jeramy's unabashedness about their interest in one another had a direct hand in the end of their relationship. Sarah Ann shared with her followers that the amount of hate that she and Jeramy received proved to be too much for them to manage, and that they weren't able to come together as a team in order to handle it.

Towards the end of her video, Sarah Ann explained that some of her followers had been asking if her breakup with Jeramy was amicable. "It was ugly," she said, making it clear that their split was anything but, then going on to add, "But it's important to know that Jeramy and I fought really hard for our relationship."
