For fans of Love Is Blind, there was no doubt what the biggest bombshell of the most recent season was. During Season 7 of the reality TV series, one of the strongest couples coming out of the pods appeared to be Tyler and Ashley, a quiet and sweet pair who seemed like they didn't have any issues.

That is, until Tyler revealed much later into the season that he had not one, but three children. Though the kids were a result of his being a sperm donor, the fact understandably shocked Ashley, and fans of the show were surprised when she chose to stay with him after he kept such a major secret from her.

Since then, Ashley has since tried to clear the air about the timeline of Tyler telling her about his kids. Now that the two are married, she's come out to clarify the details of the rather confusing timeline of events.

Ashley Guessed Tyler's Secret By Accident

During a conversation on the podcast "The Viall Files," Ashley explained how the topic initially came up with Tyler. She shared that one evening during production, Tyler approached her and said he had a secret he'd been keeping from her, and that it might be something big she'd have trouble accepting.

Alex and Tim's break up on Love is Blind gave viewers whiplash. Here's what happened behind the scenes.

Apparently, Ashley made a joke about what the secret might be, accidentally guessing the truth:

I'm like, ‘What? You got some kids or something?’ He doesn't laugh. No. He doesn't laugh. And my heart sank to the ground.

Initially, Ashley was understandably shocked, frustrated that Tyler waiting so long to tell her about the situation "robbed [her] of [her] choice," as the two were already engaged by that point. After dropping the bombshell, the two spoke for five hours about it, according to Ashley, but only small bits actually made it into the final episode cuts.

For her part, Ashley told "The Viall Files" that while the incident was certainly a shock, it never had the potential to actually end their engagement, and instead referred to it more as a "blip" in their overall relationship timeline.

Is Tyler Still Involved With His Kids?

Another discrepancy between what was aired and what may have actually happened was Tyler telling Ashley that his kids didn't know what he looked like. When fans took to the internet and found several photos of Tyler posing with the kids, even wearing matching clothing in some, it looked like his statement was false.

Ashley clarified that what her husband really meant was that he was no longer as involved with the kids' lives as he once was, and so they likely wouldn't recognize him as a main fixture in their lives. She went on to share that while at first Tyler had been more present with the kids and the friend to whom he'd donated the sperm, he'd since chosen to take a step back and allow them to be their own family.

Love Is Blind's Nick Slid Into This Former Cast Member's DMs

It seems like Nick D. made a move on another Love Is Blind veteran.

Ashley described the situation during her appearance on the podcast:

He started slowing down and coming around [less] and basically said something along the lines of, ‘You know, I just don't have a connection with these kids... You know, this is your family, and this isn’t what I originally signed up for.'

While the woman to whom Tyler donated his sperm was apparently "disappointed" with his choice to remove himself, ultimately Tyler stuck by his decision. When it came time for Tyler and Ashley to appear at the Season 7 reunion, the pair appeared rock solid and supportive of one another, prepared to defend against questions about the incident.

"Those kids, that family, they did not sign up for this," Tyler said, going on to add, "I played a part that became very shaky with a friend. There's no rule book to this... but I do want to let people know Ashley knows all this." It was also revealed that apparently Tyler hadn't wanted to discuss his kids at all on camera, which is part of the reason why he could come off as seeming shady during some scenes.

In the end, it was Ashley who encouraged them to speak about it during filming, pointing out that this kind of authenticity was part of the experiment. "I don't owe anyone an explanation but my wife," Tyler announced at the reunion.
