Sister Wives star Maddie Brown Brush (also known as "Madison") surprised fans with an update about her still-relatively new podcast, The Authentic Society.
As we previously reported, she launched The Authentic Society on October 27, and the reality TV personality absolutely came in hot when it came to Brown family tea.
We first reported on Maddie's podcast back on November 11, specifically due to statements she made during Episode 2:
"Maddie recently started a new podcast with Jayme Byrd, The Authentic Society, uploading a teaser on October 27, and the first episode on November 1.
"On Sunday (November 10), Maddie shared a short clip of Episode 2 of The Authentic Society, 'The Boundary Blueprint,' on Instagram."
During The Authentic Society's second episode, Maddie disclosed that she'd "gone no contact" with her father, Kody, and explained: "He doesn’t have any respect for boundaries, and you have to play by his rules, and I just don’t care to do that."
In the same episode, Maddie spoke plainly about her decision to cut Kody out of her life for the foreseeable future:
"My dad would get very angry when I would — I’m a straight shooter, you ask me a question, I’m going to tell you what I think — and he would get very angry when I would be like, 'I don’t know why you’re surprised here,' and so that was one of the reasons that I went no contact because it was like, he didn’t like a mirror being held up."
On December 11, we covered Episode 5 of The Authentic Society, "The Family Remix - What We Keep And What We Change."
In that episode, Maddie talked about the Brown family's disordered finances before TLC came knocking for Sister Wives, and she described the clan as "very poor."
According to Maddie, the family's polygamist structure was a clear contributor to their financial health — but she also talked about how her parents' view of money affected her own marriage to husband Caleb:
"I think that we inherit so much of our thought process around money from our parents. My dad [Kody] always chose the get rich quick schemes, almost always.
"It was such a foreign thought to Caleb. And I remember explaining some ideas to him, and he was like, 'no, no.'"
In short, Maddie's headline-making statements on her podcast typically involved noteworthy tidbits of information pertaining to her famous family, and they didn't tend to be of the flattering sort.

Which Sister Wives Kids No Longer Speak To Kody Brown?
Kody Brown has 18 children, many of whom he struggles to maintain relationships with. Several of his kids don't even talk to their father anymore.
Maddie's Podcast 'No Longer Aligns' With Her Goals
On January 6, Maddie shared a podcast-related update via Instagram.
A text-based image statement, entitled "The Closing Of A Chapter," disclosed her decision to "step away" from The Authentic Society.
It began:
"After much reflection, I've decided to step away from The Authentic Society podcast. I've truly enjoyed the experience, learned so much, and am deeply grateful for the support from all of you. However, it's clear this project no longer aligns with my goals or the vision I have for my future and my family."
Although Maddie's podcast involvement is ending now, she also said she was open to podcasting again.
She continued, referring to the "season" she's in, which is a common part of motherhood-related discourse — honoring the phases of being a mom, without resenting the limitations of some "seasons":
"While I'm closing this chapter with The Authentic Society, I'm not closing the door on podcasting forever. Who knows what the future might hold?
"For now, however, my focus is on the season I'm in-being present for and focusing on the well-being of my growing family, building Taeda Farms and starting the build of our new home. All of these things are where my heart currently is and what I feel needs my full focus right now."
Maddie also noted that The Authentic Society would not be ending: "Jayme will be continuing the podcast and I wish her all the love and support."
As for why Maddie's podcast experiment ended so quickly, she didn't say more than expressing a desire to spend more time with her family and their projects.
In the comments, Sister Wives fans were mostly supportive — but several urged Maddie to start a podcast with her mom, Janelle.
