At the age of 64, Madonna recently underwent a major health scare, battling a bacterial infection. Thankfully, the artist is now out of the hospital and recovering. However, there are rumors emerging that her days on tour might be over. That remains to be seen, as her only focus will be on getting better and improving her health in the upcoming months.

Madonna Was In Tears During A 2019 Show In Miami Due To How Painful Her Hip Injury Was
As if performing isn't stressful enough, Madonna was dealing with a major pain to her hip behind the scenes. During a Miami performance, the injury was very apparent as the artist barely made her way up the ladder, as posted to her IG account in the video below.
Madonna admitted the situation was a very stressful one knowing she couldn't be at her best. It resulted in the artist fighting through the pain.
She revealed on IG, "As I climbed the ladder to sing 'Batuka' on Saturday night in Miami I was in tears from the pain of my injuries, Which has been indescribable for the past few days. With every song I sang, I said a prayer that I would make it to the next and get thru the show. My prayers were answered, And I made it."
Although Madonna felt a sense of relief getting through it, she had no other choice but to take time off and recover from the scare.
Madonna Was Given No Other Choice But To Take On The Surgery And Cancel Future Dates For Her Tour
It is only normal, mistakes take place throughout high stress performances. Madonna knows all about that, once falling off the stage during the Brit Awards in 2015, which turned out to be more embarrassing than painful for the artist.
However, when it came to her hip injury, Madonna realized she needed help, even if that would mean taking time off.
“However this time I have to listen to my body And accept that my pain is a warning I want to say how deeply sorry I am to all my fans. For having to cancel my last show," she said at the time.
Madonna would go on to reveal that surgery and time off was the best solution.
"I spent the last two days with doctors Scans, ultra sounds, Xrays Poking and probing and more tears," she added in her Instagram caption. "They have made it very clear to me that if l am to continue my tour — I must rest for as long as possible so that I don’t inflict further and Irreversible damage to my body."
She continues, "I have never let an injury stop me from performing but this time i have to accept that there is no shame in being human and having to press the pause button,” Madonna wrote. “I thank you all for your understanding, love and support."
The artist was able to recover but as most fans know, she faced another scare most recently.
Madonna Is Back Home After Her Recent Health Scare Of A Serious Bacterial Infection
Thankfully, a close source with People reported that Madonna is back home from her bacterial infection, and feeling a lot better. As expected, Madonna's manager issued a statement, stating that all tours would be delayed.
"We will share more details with you soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows," wrote Oseary, while adding that Madonna will make a full recovery.
The news is especially tough given that Madonna was hitting the road for her celebration tour for her 40-year anniversary. She wrote about the tour, "I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for."
Fans are hoping Madonna will at some point down the road return to the stage, but for the time being, the focus will be on getting better, and taking on as much rest as possible.
