In the past, Stephen Colbert has had some excellent duos on his show. Among that list eight years ago early on into his Late Show run included Margot Robbie and Tina Fey together. They were promoting their film at the time, Whisky Tango Foxtrot. However, the interview takes a very unexpected turn when Robbie discusses the fact that she was giving out tattoos. And in fact, one of them did not go to plan.
During that story, Tina Fey comes up with a great line, one that had both Colbert and Robbie laughing. We'll reveal what was said during the interview, and how Robbie felt about working alongside Fey. In addition, we'll reveal another actor that commented on Robbie's appearance during an interview.
Let's take a closer look.
Tina Fey Commented "It's A Good Time To Be Pretty" After Margot Robbie Revealed She Spelled A Tattoo Wrong
Tina Fey and Margot Robbie's interview with Stephen Colbert took a twist nobody was expecting. Robbie discussed the fact that she was giving out at tattoos, and Fey questioned if people actually wanted them from her... Robbie admitted that things weren't always promising, however.
That was especially true when she spelled a tattoo wrong for a co-star. Both Tina Fey and Stephen Colbert were stunned by the reveal. It only made sense that Fey added to the moment. She tells Robbie, "Good time to be pretty," which is met by a laugh from both Colbert and Robbie.
In the comments section of the viral interview from eight years ago, fans couldn't stop discussing the Tina Fey moment.
"A good time to be pretty" HAHAHAAHHAHAA." Another fan writes, "Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are my spirit animals. The funniest female comedians around."
"I just love how Tina Fey has such mom vibes here. Just the “oh no, oh noooo. This is bad.”
Fans clearly had a blast with the moment, and it was one that made for some great TV.
Margot Robbie Revealed She Had A Blast Working With Tina Fey In Whisky Tango Foxtrot
Whisky Tango Foxtrot wasn't a box office sensation, but the war/comedy still got some decent reviews from the likes of IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes. Margot Robbie's chemistry with Tina Fey was clear during the film. Speaking alongside Hello Giggles, Robbie discussed becoming best friends with Tina Fey during the film.
Robbie revealed that she was intimidated by the prospect of working with the actress. But it turned out to be even easier than expected.
"Look, now that we’re putting on record, Tina and I are best friends. [laughs] Yes, Tina and I got along so well immediately, which made the whole thing so much easier," she said during the interview.
"She is the easiest person to get along with. She is so chilled, and she’s obviously funny, [but] everyone knows that. She’s wicked smart. She’s just so chill, which was really nice, you know? I was a little bit intimidated by the thought of working with someone as good as her, because you just hope you can be good enough to work opposite them, I suppose. But she’s so approachable, so lovely, it was really easy."
Ultimately, Robbie called it an easy experience given the cast she was surrounded by.
"I was surrounded by people like Tina [Fey] and Martin [Freeman] and Chris [Abbot], and Steven [Peacocke] and the cast was so good, the script was so good, our directors were so good. It kind of made my job very, very easy."
A very underrated role in Robbie's career, once again showing her range as an actress.
It Wasn't The Only Time An Actor Commented On Margot Robbie's Look During An Interview
Both fans and Margot Robbie were disappointed by this mention made by Jim Carrey. During their time together on The Graham Norton Show, fans felt like Carrey completely shaded Margot Robbie during their interview.
Carrey said, "You're amazing, and I'm so excited for you. It is incredible you have gotten as far as you have with your obvious physical disadvantages. It's unbelievable, really something. That's just pure talent there. A talent override."
"It seems that these days Jim has the same amount of light and the same amount of darkness and he is brilliant. And Margot saw it," a fan wrote about Carrey's comment towards Robbie.
Credit to Margot as she handled the situation with pure class.
