Even Ford was surprised by this, and jokingly revealed that he still had leftover copies of the film.

Heche reveals, "I would not have gotten that movie [Six Days, Seven Nights]. He called me the day after they said I wasn't going to get it, because I took Ellen to the [Volcano] premiere, and Harrison Ford, he was a hero. He said, 'Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn who you're sleeping with. We're going to make the best romantic comedy there is and I'll see you on the set."

"I met him once or twice casually. But I knew his work. I loved his ambitions. I loved his choices. I loved the filmmakers he chose to work with when he could have had much more obvious choices and I loved what it produced ... But the producers had been thinking about him anyway so it didn't matter what I thought."
