As an actor, Ackerley appeared in one of the most successful franchises, Harry Potter. But there's no need to deep-search through the entire eight films looking for Margot Robbie's husband — he was an extra in three films from the franchise.

Ackerley appeared in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

According to Harry Potter Wiki, Tom Ackerley had the uncredited role of Unidentified Slytherin Boy (I), whose identity may be Theodore Nott from the Harry Potter books.

The role was small and wasn't a big break for Ackerley, whose only acting gigs were the Harry Potter films.

Ackerley would disappear from the industry only to return as a grown-up, but this time, he was active behind the cameras. Tom Ackerley worked as an assistant director on projects like Da Vinci's Demon, Last Days on Mars, The Borderlands, Everly, and Suite Française (where he met Margot Robbie), among others.

In 2014, Ackerley co-founded a production company, LuckyChap Entertainment, with Robbie and other friends. Since then, his film credits as a producer include I, Tonya, Promising Young Woman, and Terminal. Maid, Mike, Barbie, and Saltburn.

Margot Robbie's husband did not go back to acting, but it seemed he found his calling as a filmmaker.

After sharing on The Graham Norton Show how she spent her 13th birthday dressed as Harry Potter, Robbie revealed a fun fact about her husband.

"My husband is in the Harry Potter movies," she said proudly. "I know I was like 'Had you told me sooner, we would have married very quickly.' He was an extra when he was a little kid. He's like one of the Slytherin kids Draco pushes out of the way in Buckbeak, in the third book. Yeah, Draco pushed my husband," Robbie finished proudly.

Her reaction to knowing is a classic fangirl experience, and it seems Robbie would have truly walked down the aisle the minute she found out about her husband's early career path.

Margot Didn't Think Her Husband Would Like Her More Than Friends

Their relationship started as a fling, but it has birthed many things, including a phenomenal box office hit — Barbie

Margot Robbie's relationship with her husband is seen as healthy because he understands the demands of her job. Although they remained private about their lives, Robbie has often disclosed how she and her husband started dating — a start filled with uncertainty on her part.

Robbie told Vogue she was in love with him for so long but was scared he wouldn't like her back.

"I was always in love with him, but I thought, 'Oh, he would never love me back. Don’t make it weird, Margot. Don’t be stupid and tell him that you like him. And then it happened, and I was like, 'Of course, we’re together.' This makes so much sense, the way nothing has ever made sense before."

How they started dating was natural and unceremonious. Robbie had invited Ackerley and a few other friends from the set of Suite Française to the London premiere of The Wolf of Wall Street. After that night, Robbie suggested they live together.

Ackerley and Robbie started dating that same year, but they kept their relationship under wraps, even from their housemates. "We kept it a secret. Because we weren't really taking it seriously. 'Oh, whatever, we're just mates, we're just mates.’ And then… everyone found out. It was dramatic," she told Elle.

The casual relationship led to marriage and even a deeper bond as business partners, with them starting their production company. While many were wary of the couple mixing business with pleasure, Margot Robbie knew she could make it work with her husband.

The critical and commercial success of their projects has proven this. And slowly, they are slowly edging closer to Hollywood's elite couples in the industry.
