“Margot and Miles represent some of the best of the next generation of rising stars and it is only fitting that they host an evening saluting the film innovations and innovators who will inform the future,” Oscar producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said of the selection in a statement at the time.

Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs expressed delight at landing the pair for the event. "We're very excited to have Margot and Miles hosting this year's Sci-Tech Awards," she said, per Entertainment Weekly. "Both are fresh voices in our industry and will be a welcome addition to the night where we honor our colleagues' technical achievements.”

With her infectious laughter spreading to the audience, Robbie made a hasty exit from the stage, leaving Teller to handle the situation solo. The audience watched in amusement as Margot disappeared momentarily, only to return with a drink in hand, still struggling to compose herself.

This wouldn’t be the last time that Robbie would completely lose her composure at an awards show.
