Tom And Margot Mainly Fight About Food
In an interview with The Sunday Times, Ackerley shared that their only argument has been over "whether Tim Tams or Penguins are better," highlighting the popular snacks from their respective countries—Australia for the Oscar-nominated actress and England for her husband.
The film producer elaborated on their relationship, emphasizing that they spend "24 hours a day" together. When asked about how they balance work and leisure, he described it as "seamless."
Tom explained, "We don't have a toggle on, toggle off. It's all become one thing."
Margot and Tom began dating in 2013 after meeting on the set of the film Suite Française, where Ackerley was an assistant director. They tied the knot in a private ceremony in December 2016.
Margot Made Approximately $50 Million For ‘Barbie’
Ackerley is known for co-founding the production company LuckyChap Entertainment with Robbie, through which they have produced several successful films, including I, Tonya and Promising Young Woman. The couple’s company also produced Margot’s smash hit Barbie, for which she was also a lead actress and executive producer, raking in an estimated $50 million from the dual role.
Margot’s Barbie was a huge milestone for her career, and it appears other people in Hollywood are taking notice, including Leonardo DiCaprio. One report from earlier this month said the actor was jealous of Margot’s success and sees her as a big competitor come awards season.
“Margot went from being Leo’s discovery and prodigy 10 years ago in The Wolf of Wall Street to being his biggest direct competition in 2023 and the irony isn’t lost on him,” an insider shared wtih Life & Style.
“As great as Barbie has been for the whole industry with getting people back to movie theaters, that’s not the kind of movie Leo likes to make. He thought it was massively overrated,” they continued.
Margot released Barbie last year, while Leonardo DiCaprio also starred in a major blockbuster, Killers of the Flower Moon. Despite the excitement surrounding both films, Leo is reportedly frustrated that his movie was overshadowed by the immense hype and attention that Barbie received.
“It was especially frustrating after the years of work [they] put into the movie, which got buried and nothing near the credit [Leo] felt it deserved,” the source continued. “So it’s annoying that people are constantly asking him about Barbie.”
Margot Robbie is best known for her breakout role as Naomi Lapaglia in The Wolf of Wall Street, where she starred opposite DiCaprio. She has also gained acclaim for her performances in I, Tonya, portraying the controversial figure skater Tonya Harding, and as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey.
