The Target and Walmart accounts were throwing shade at each other on the platform, and started using photos and GIFs of the singer to get their points across.

That prompted the diva and ex-wife of serial baby daddy Nick Cannon to step in and settle things between the two.

The Companies Were Using Carey Content In Their Fight

It all started when the official Twitter account posted a question yesterday, asking “why should we follow you”.

The marketing person at Target must have been feeling feisty that day, because they rattled off the response of “because we’re not Walmart”.

Walmart got the notification that shots were fired, and decided to reply to the tweet, acting flattered that Target was thinking of them.

The company’s account posted a GIF of Carey singing “Why you so obsessed with me?”.

Target fired back, saying, “Come again?” and adding a tweet from Carey in 2019, pictured shopping at Target.

She had posted that upon telling her daughter they could go anywhere in the world for a shopping spree, and the girl picked Target.

With all the back-and-forth involving her, Carey decided that it was time to step in and settle things between the two.

She popped up in the thread, letting the two companies know that there was no need to be fighting over her because she likes both stores.

Carey kept with the trend, too, posting a GIF of herself that says “We love everybody…”.
