Mariah Carey has never walked down the aisle again since her divorce from Nick Cannon, though she appeared close with her boyfriend Bryan Tanaka, who she split with earlier this year. However, it appears the break-up may have brought Mariah closer to Nick, who’s made it clear he’s never closed the door on reconciling with his ex-wife.
“Nick and Mariah have a special bond,” a source claimed to Life & Style. “It’s not romantic, but Mariah likes having his shoulder to lean on, especially now that she’s single.”
Mariah and Nick were married for eight years and welcomed twins together, Moroccan and Monroe, now 12. While the legendary singer hasn’t had any more children, Cannon has become infamous for the large brood of kids he’s welcomed since divorcing Mariah. He now has 12 kids between multiple women.
Mariah And Nick’s Closeness Causes Issues With His Baby Mamas
The same source claims that Mariah has caused some issues with Nick’s other baby mamas, as they don’t like that she wants to be treated like the no. one woman in his life, even if they’re no longer involved on a romantic level. “That doesn’t sit well with the other ladies,” they said.
“The other women aren’t too happy about sharing Nick with Mariah,” they continued. “The way they see it, Mariah has it all: She’s rich, famous and can afford multiple nannies. She doesn’t need the extra attention from Nick.”
It's been speculated that Nick may pay upwards of $3 million in child support for his kids, but he’s denied being on court-ordered payments at all, saying what he pays annually is much higher. Nick has made headlines for buying the mothers of his children’s homes, proving he does financially support his kids and their mothers.
But with Mariah’s reported net worth of $350 million, which is more than quadruple Nick’s fortune of $50 million, if anyone would be paying child support between them, it’d likely be her.
Nick Says Mariah Ignores His Other Baby Mamas
While Mariah has been careful about what she says regarding Nick’s personal life, even though he’s gotten backlash for the number of kids he has without being in committed relationships with their mothers, one report claims Mariah hardly thinks of them.
“She’s like, as long as you don’t bring none of that bulls—t to the Manor of Carey,” Cannon previously said of Mariah’s attitude towards his other kids and baby mamas. “Like, she lives in her own world, nothing can infiltrate that stuff. When we talk daily, she’s just checking on my spirit.”
This February, Nick reveled if he sees any potential to rekindle his relationship with Mariah, implying that while he’d be open, she’s the one holding back. "I mean, you gotta ask her!" Cannon joked in response to E! News' Justin Sylvester’s prompting. "Let me know what she say!"
Mariah had just broken up with her boyfriend, Bryan Tanaka, after multiple years together when Cannon was questioned on the subject. Alas, while Mariah and Nick may remain good friends, it doesn’t appear like any romantic sparks are flying nearly a decade after their divorce.
