The LA Times further notes that there's a reason for the massive price tag, "At 30,500 square feet, it’s the seventh-largest house currently on the market in Los Angeles County — and while many of the top spots are occupied by boxy, modern spec mansions, Wahlberg’s place stands on its own as a European-style showplace that mixes Old World style with an abundance of modern amenities."

In addition, for the time-being, the actor purchased another home for his family to stay in while the new purchase gets built.

Mark Wahlberg Moved For The Kids And The Future Of His Career

Given his words alongside People, family and his future projects are the main reason for moving to Vegas and out of Hollywood. Mark also revealed that despite living in Hollywood, he only did a handful of projects in the town, usually traveling to different locations for the film.

Wahlberg mentioned with People that Vegas has big potential to be an upscale version of Hollywood.

"We moved to Nevada where, after this gubernatorial election, hopefully we go to legislation and get a bill passed so we can get tax credits for the state, build a state-of-the-art studio here and make this Hollywood 2.0."

Ultimately, business aside, his kids and their future was another major reason for the change in locations.

He tells People, "So to be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams — whether it be my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer — this made a lot more sense for us."

Wahlberg joins a long list of stars, such as Nicolas Cage that have made the jump from Hollywood to Vegas. It'll be interesting to see what the future holds for Nevada as more celebrities consider the move.
