Following the end of Married at First Sight season 9, Jamie Thompson and Elizabeth Bice settled into their married life. They claimed their fights settled down immediately after the stress of filming ended, and their relationship was much easier.
Directly following the end of filming in 2019, the newly-weds decided to make the move to San Francisco, California. Thompson and Bice wanted a fresh start for the new chapter in their lives, but unfortunately San Francisco was not the happily ever after they were looking for.
When the global pandemic hit and the lock-downs got serious, Thompson and Bice opted to relocate once again in order to have more space and freedom. They found themselves farther south in California in Santa Barbara. Though they both did contract the virus, having the extra legroom in their home completely changed their attitude towards the pandemic.
The bigger space and different atmosphere also allowed Thompson and Bice to explore new hobbies together. The couple wanted to find something they enjoyed doing together, so they tried things out such as bike riding and even miming.
The couple eventually ended up living in Colorado together.
Thompson was there for his wife when her beloved dog passed away in 2021, and Bice thanked him on social media for being such a loving and steady force throughout the trying time.
All in all, everything the couple shared on social media following their appearance on Married at First Sight suggested that they were a very happy married couple.
Of course, social media only tells a snippet of the story, and it turns out Thompson and Bice were not particularly happy together after all.

The writing was on the wall for fans of Jamie Thompson and Elizabeth Bice.
Signs of their current struggles were clear earlier this year. Thompson shared on social media back in April 2023 that the two were separated. At the time, the separation was meant to simply be a break in order for each of them to work on themselves and better their relationship.
Though Thompson shared the news online, Bice remained silent about the break in their marriage. Fans asked, but she refused to talk about the subject, saying she was not ready to discuss the fragile state of her marriage to Thompson.
Considering the rough nature of their early marriage life, which had been displayed for the world to see on Married at First Sight, fans were not surprised when Thompson announced on June 30th, 2023 that his marriage to Bice was over.
"After months of deliberation with Beth, we were just unable to find common ground," Thomspon wrote on his social media.
"I had really hoped to resolve this, but it feels like we have reached the point of no return. So, I made the decision to go ahead and file for divorce for the sake of my own mental health and wellbeing. It was one of the hardest things I've had to do in a very long time."
"It saddens me a lot to be at this point. I was never sure if I would get married/ But, I sure didn't want to get divorced either (even if it was an arranged marriage courtesy of Hollywood)," he added.
Though fans are sad to hear that their marriage has come to an end, many fans are also surprised their marriage even lasted this long.
