Some couples fall in love. The folks we see on Married at First Sight take something more like a blind leap of faith as they launch themselves into their new relationships. That is especially true for Amani, 29, and Woody, 30, who decided to give the show a try, after years of respective romantic disconnection.
Amani has confessed to harboring trust issues following the shocking discovery that her ex-boyfriend was secretly married to someone else. Woody’s own rocky background does nothing to keep his new wife calm—the school teacher has admitted to being a bit of a player in the past.
Now, tensions are escalating as the New Orleans couple is trying to figure out whether or not their lifestyles are compatible. We have taken a peek at an exclusive preview to help fans understand whether or not Amani and Woody really have a chance of working out.

The Doggy Dealbreaker
According to an exclusive peek at the show’s next episode, Amani and Woody do not agree on everything, especially when it comes to adopting a pet. While Amani wants a dog to raise alongside their future children, Woody is totally opposed to living alongside an animal.
The school teacher of the pair has no interest in training a dog or trying to control the animal’s natural instincts. “So you’re going to tell a dog to stop barking,” he asked Amani doubtfully.
Woody did not stop there. Instead of giving his wife a chance to explain how she wanted to train a dog by squirting water at it, he went ahead and added a heavy dose of toxicity to the discussion. “Wait, I want you to stop talking. I can start spraying you with water,” he said.
Unsurprisingly, Amani did not love being compared to a dog. “I’m going to beat your a**,” she responded, only escalating tensions further.
Can Woody Control His Anger?
The pair’s disagreement comes just after Woody came out and admitted that he can sometimes have an anger problem. This issue is particularly relevant to his new marriage, because Amani has made it clear that she will not tolerate that kind of negative energy in a relationship.
So, is this the beginning of the end for the couple?
As far as we can tell in the spoilers, Amani and Woody are still going strong. Even as the pair argued, Amani was wearing an adorable t-shirt with the word “wifey” written on the front in cursive. The couple also seemed to agree about the possibility of starting a family and even talked about planning for a baby within a couple of years!
However, it seems fair to say that future conversations about topics ranging from pets to children may have to take a less aggressive form if the couple is actually going to work out in the long run.
