As far as the interviews are concerned, Jimmy Fallon's time alongside guests seems to be positive, especially from a viewership standpoint. However, given the recent allegations, things might be different behind the scenes. Credit to Fallon who acknowledged the comments made about his toxic workplace. The host felt embarrassed by what was said.

"It’s embarrassing and I feel so bad. Sorry if I embarrassed you and your family and friends. I feel so bad I can’t even tell you. I want this show to be fun, it should be inclusive for everybody, it should be funny, it should be the best show, the best people."

Fallon is far from the only host to face such backlash, Ellen is another example. As expected, once the story went viral, fans went digging for past interviews that painted Fallon in a negative light.

One that surfaced on Twitter featured Martin Short bashing the host during his time on The Tonight Show. In fairness, the moment was part of a roast between himself, Steve Martin and the host Jimmy Fallon. Let's take a look at what was said, and why fans sided with Short.

Jimmy Fallon's Interview With Martin Short Resurfaced Following The Allegations

"Out of all the late night shows this one is the easiest to fall asleep to." That was one of the many shots Martin Short took at Jimmy Fallon during their hilarious interview. However, fans truly believe that one joke in particular had a lot more truth to it.

Short revealed, "This is the greatest show on television because there is no host that pretends to care like you. I mean nobody captures phoniness like you do. It's a gift."

Fallon went along with the joke, thanking Short for his "kind words." The moment can be seen below.

Fans had plenty to say about the moment but for the most part, the praise went to Martin Short and his entertainment value as a guest.

"Martin Short absolute kills any interview he's does. There are plenty of comedians who are unable (or unwilling) to adapt their comedic style to the changing times, but he is certainly not one of them. All of his jokes still manage to feel fresh. It's also unreal how much energy he still has for someone his age."

Others defended Fallon, making mention that Short usually uses this interview approach. "Tell me without telling me you’ve never seen martin short on a late-night show," the fan writes on Twitter. "Pretty much non-stop roasting. He and Steve Martin are best friends, and he’ll roast the heck out of him too when they’re guests on shows like this."

It seems like Fallon also got the support of NBC during a tough moment.

The investigation is an ongoing one but at the moment, it seems like NBC is backing Jimmy Fallon.

The network issued a statement, “We are incredibly proud of The Tonight Show, and providing a respectful working environment is a top priority. As in any workplace, we have had employees raise issues; those have been investigated and action has been taken where appropriate. As is always the case, we encourage employees who feel they have experienced or observed behavior inconsistent with our policies to report their concerns so that we may address them accordingly.”

In addition, other employees have come to Jimmy's defense in the midst of his career crisis. One employee praised Jimmy for his communication skills.

"He makes a point of commending you when you do a great job and when he's happy," said the staffer with People.

"And any feedback I've received is always like, 'Hey, we don't need to do that again.' It's been very constructive and helpful for me in continuing to put together a show that he's happy with. I've never been belittled, yelled at, nothing like that. It's all exactly how a boss should give feedback to an employee.”

Certainly with time, Fallon will do his best to improve the situation.
