Even though Thanos was ultimately defeated in Endgame, our beloved movie heroes did struggle quite a bit to take down The Mad Titan. Their victory wasn't even really a victory, because we still lost some major heroes in the process. That being said, had the films followed the comics more closely, Thanos could have been defeated a lot quicker than he was. Then again, where's the fun in that?
In today's list, we will be looking at 15 different Marvel characters who could easily bring Thanos to his knees. While most of these guys haven't yet been seen in the movies, their powers are still well known to Marvel fans everywhere. Hopefully, next time planet Earth and its population is in danger, filmmakers think to call upon a few of these unlikely heroes....
15 Thanos Would Be No Match For The Living Tribunal
The Living Tribunal is without a doubt one of Marvel's most powerful characters. His role is to protect the entire multiverse and he could basically do away with Thanos with a snap of his fingers (we know, that's The Mad Titan's move). However, there is a chance The Living Tribunal would refuse to destroy Thanos, since they both believe in balance.
14 Thanos' Powers Would Never Work On Silver Surfer
With a Silver Surfer film in the works, we may get to witness his powers on the big-screen pretty soon. However, it's a little too late. Had Silver Surfer been brought around earlier in the MCU, he could have easily done away with Thanos, perhaps even saving Tony Stark.
13 Dormammu Could Get Rid Of Thanos In A Hundred Different Ways
As we know from Doctor Strange's film, Dormammu cannot be defeated. He is basically an all-powerful god who can create and take life as he pleases. Even though Doctor Strange has confined him to his own dimension, if Thanos were to go looking for Dormammu, it would be the last thing he ever did.
12 Thanos Could Never Stand Vulcan's Heat
For those unfamiliar, Vulcan is actually Cyclops' younger brother. Talk about powerful family genes! Vulcan has the ability to control all forms of energy. Not only could he use electricity or even heat to conquer Thanos, but he would more than likely be able to control Thanos' entire being.
11 Franklin Richards Is Small, But Powerful Enough To Take On Thanos
Franklin Richards is the extremely powerful son of Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman. He may not be everyone's favorite Marvel character, but his power is undeniable. Highly considered to be one of the strongest mutants of all time, Richards could easily use his cosmic abilities to end The Mad Titan's reign. Let's not forget, the kid built himself a pocket-sized universe...
10 The Beyonder Is Beyond Powerful Enough To Defeat Thanos
With his Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos could maybe hold out for a few minutes in a battle against The Beyonder. However, every Marvel fan out there would agree that in the end, Thanos would be defeated. There is a lot of mystery surrounding The Beyonder's origins and powers, but one thing is for sure...Thanos wouldn't stand a chance.
9 Jean Grey Could Definitely Beat Thanos And Look Great While Doing It
We've all witnessed the very scary powers of Jean Grey whether in comics or in the movies. The mutant is an absolute beast, though admittedly kind of a loose cannon. With her powers to control all matter and time, Thanos would truly be no match for her. Where was she in Endgame?!
8 Forget Thanos, Molecule Man Would Win Against Anyone!
Considering the fact that Molecule Man has the power to control all matter at a molecular level, there really is no question over whether or not he could defeat Thanos. With the slightest of ease, Molecule Man could reduce Thanos to a pile of ashes or turn him into a mere cockroach.
7 Maybe Not Dave Bautista, But Comic Book Drax Could Definitely Take Down Thanos
MCU's Drax the Destroyer and the one featured in the Marvel comic books are two completely different characters. While Dave Bautista is one of the best parts about the Guardians of the Galaxy films, there's no way he'd face Thanos and live to tell the tale. That being said, in the comics, Drax was created with the sole purpose of taking down such villains.
6 Squirrel Girl Is Far Too Crafty For Thanos
It may be hard for anyone who hasn't read the comics to believe, but Squirrel Girl is one of the firecest heroes out there. Sure, she's small and her power is literally squirrel communication, but the nut-loving heroine has actually already proven she can defeat Thanos. Not only that, she's also taken down the likes of Doctor Doom, Galactus and Wolverine.
