And we took them all skydiving. And we went through the course and me and all of these writers got into a plane out of California, and they all jumped out of the plane. By the end of it, to see the way they walked, it was like a John Wayne type."

LeBlanc explains, “If they have electricity, they’re watching Friends it seems like,” LeBlanc joked. “It’s true.”

“People, I’m not kidding, they live in actual caves,” LeBlanc said. “You see like an extension cord going into the cave and you can hear ‘I’ll be there for you’ coming out of this cave. Matt LeBlanc Praised The Writing Team In A Separate Interview, Mentioning That They Made Less Than Stellar Guest Stars Look Good

Throughout his time with the writing team on Friends, Matt LeBlanc was always very complimentary of their work. What made things that much better for the cast was the fact that they were allowed to make tweaks to the script. Touching the script wasn't forbidden like other shows of today, and the series would take on several takes of a scene. It was all about the audience's reaction to a joke and nothing else mattered.

During his interview with Glamour, LeBlanc spoke candidly about Friends. Among his reveals was how the writers on the show saved a lot of the guest stars.

"Still, on Friends, we had some guest-stars who were less than spectacular, not the stunt-casting, but just regular guest-stars, and they weren't particularly great actors, but the material was so good that they scored. It's the writing."

LeBlanc wasn't wrong as some of the most established stars in all of Hollywood admitted to being nervous prior to their time on Friends. Working in front of a live audience is a completely different animal, even for the most successful Hollywood stars. Sean Penn was among the actors that struggled behind the scenes, but was saved by the writing on the show.
