On the small screen, McConaughey hasn't done nearly as much work, but it doesn't mean that he hasn't been successful there. He has appeared on shows like Eastbound & Down and True Detective. The actor has been a success, and his celebrity status has opened the door for people to learn about his private life.
He Has Questionable Hygiene Habits
When speaking to People, Matthew McConaughey revealed that he never wears deodorant and hasn't done so in a few decades.
"I haven’t worn deodorant in 20 years," he said.
Never one to wear deodorant, McConaughey did talk about Kate Hudson's attempts to get him to wear natural deodorant. The duo worked together in the past, and Hudson was persistent with her desire to get her co-star to wear some deodorant.
"'Would you please put this on?' I just never wore it. No cologne, no deodorant. The women in my life, including my mother, have all said, 'Hey, your natural smell smells, one, like a man, and, two, smells like you,"' said the actor.
Clearly, people have been wanting to get the actor to finally wear some deodorant, and it has gotten fans wondering about how he actually smells. Thankfully, a former co-star of his got close enough to him and revealed the truth about it all.

So, does Matthew McConaughey stink?
According to Yvette Nicole Brown, "I remember that Matthew McConaughey said that he did not use deodorant and that he didn't have an odor. So my first thought was, I'm going to get as close as I can to him to see if he's right. He does not have an odour.
He smells like granola and good living. He has a sweet, sweet scent. That is just him, and it's not musty or crazy.”
That's right, despite not wearing any deodorant ever, Matthew McConaughey actually smells nice. Brown, however, has a theory about why this is the case and why he doesn't seem to stink ever.
"I believe he bathes because he smells delicious. He just didn't have deodorant on. Those that don't bathe, I don't understand."
It is pretty remarkable to hear that McConaughey doens't smell at all, and in recent months, many celebs have been open about their questionable hygiene habits. Never one to let the public down, however, Dwayne Johnson assured everyone that he keeps himself clean and showers regularly.
"Nope, I’m the opposite of a 'not washing themselves' celeb. Shower (cold) when I roll outta bed to get my day rollin’. Shower (warm) after my workout before work. Shower (hot) after I get home from work. Face wash, body wash, exfoliate and I sing (off key) in the shower Soap Multiple musical notes.," Johnson posted on social media.
Matthew McConaughey might smell okay, but the majority of people simply can't pull off not wearing deodorant ever. It's a good thing the man is famous.
