Megan Thee Stallion has emerged as perhaps the hottest young artist on the music scene today. 2019 was something of a breakout year for her, while 2020 firmly established her as a major superstar whose songs become instant hits as soon as she drops them. Even at the center of controversy this year, she bounced back better than ever already.

Despite only being active as a rapper for the past four years, she has already had 10 top songs on the Billboard Hot 100 list, something that some artists can only dream about. Judging by her top records to reach Billboard, which of these songs rank highly among her best songs she's released yet?

10 Captain Hook - #74

"Captain Hook" was the second single that Megan Thee Stallion released to promote her new EP album, SUGA. Like many of the songs on this list, "Captain Hook" gained notoriety thanks to a Tik Tok dance challenge.

The "Captain Hook" dance was originally choreographed by Tik Tok user Skaibeauty. When the dance got trending, the trend spread like wildfire. As a result, so did "Captain Hook," which as a song peaked at #41 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs list, and #74 on the overall Billboard Hot 100.

9 All Dat - #70

Back when Megan Thee Stallion was still merely on the cusp of superstardom, as opposed to being an actual superstar yet, Meg was dating fellow rapper Moneybagg Yo. Although their union was not meant to last forever, we do still have their few collaborations to remember the pairing by.

Among those collaborations, "All Dat" was by far their most popular. Featured on Moneybagg's third album, Time Served, the song is an ode to the classic dirty South sound that grew popular in the former couple's respective native Houston and Tennessee backgrounds.

8 Big Ole Freak - #65

"Big Ole Freak" was Megan Thee Stallion's first step into superstardom, as it was her first song to chart on Billboard's list. As a single from her Tina Snow EP, "Big Ole Freak" debuted at #99 and gradually grew its way up the charts before peaking at #65.

Even though Meg has had much bigger records since then, "Big Ole Freak" still stands relatively high by comparison as her eighth highest-charting song yet. Even better, the 2019 song still slaps to this day a year later.

7 NASTY - #50

DaBaby and Megan Thee Stallion have become frequent collaborators in recent years, to the point that he told Billboard in an interview that he would love to record an entire collab album with Meg one day.

We still may be a long way away from the two collaborating to that extent, but their most recent song together was a surprise hit, considering it wasn't even released as a single. The song in question was "NASTY," also featuring Ashanti and off of DaBaby's latest album. Clearly, there's a demand from the public for more of Meg with the DaBaby.

6 Cash S*** - #36

While not the biggest song on this list or in Megan's catalog, it could be argued that this may be the most important song on Meg's discography, just for the fact that it is where she first coined the term "Hot Girl."

Ever since she first called herself "thee hot girl," her fanbase ran with the idea as a source of empowerment, especially heading into the following summer. Before we knew it, Hot Girl Summer was born as a term that went viral. The attention inspired Meg to create a song of the same name, but the hype for it all started with this record alongside DaBaby.

5 B - #31

It's funny to think that "WAP" - don't worry, we'll get to it - received so much controversy for being vulgar, but months prior, those same people were quiet when she released a far more vulgar acronym.

So vulgar that we can't even spell it out. We can say, however, that the song begins with a capital B, capital I, capital T, capital C, capital ... well, you know the rest. In any case, just know that it was the lead single from her latest project, SUGA.

4 Girls in the Hood - #28

Following up after crafting one of the biggest songs of the year, "Savage" (don't worry, we'll get to it), Megan Thee Stallion started working on what would be her next single, "Girls in the Hood."

Setting the quote-on-quote "hood" stage, the Scott Storch produced song features a sample from the classic Eazy-E song, "Boyz-n-the-Hood." And with the late Eazy-E being a member of the group NWA, she got help from O'Shea Jackson - son of Ice Cube, another NWA alum - to write the song. Both this and "Savage" were included in a BET Awards performed medley.

3 Hot Girl Summer - #11

As mentioned earlier, Hot Girl Summer became a worldwide viral meme to the point that Megan Thee Stallion felt the need to capitalize on the hype with a song on the matter. Only she couldn't possibly do so by herself. She did so with the help of R&B sensation Ty Dolla $ign and with a few verses from the original Hot Girl, Nicki Minaj.

Critically, some fans expected more and were a little disappointed with how the song turned out. Despite that, the song quickly rose atop the charts as Meg's first mega-hit record.

2 Savage - #1

Thanks to getting a nice boost from Tik Tok dancers who turned her song into a dance routine, "Savage" wound up being Megan Thee Stallion's very first number one hit song. But that was not the only boost that helped Meg reach superstardom.

She also enlisted the help of a bonafide superstar named Beyoncé, who hopped on the "Savage" remix to garner even more ears to listen to the record. Looks like all it took was one extra verse for Bey to rub her superstardom all over the Houston rapper.

1 WAP - #1

Meg's superstar power was elevated and cemented by having not just one, but two number one hit records in 2020. The second being her most recent single, "WAP," featuring modern-day Bronx legend, Cardi B.

Two women rapping about their "macaroni in the pot" (as Cardi likes to call it) was enough to set social media ablaze with Tik Tok dance routines, internet-wide discourse over whether or not their lyrics were too vulgar, and countless parodies. In terms of the attention that the song and its accompanying music video had, "WAP" may very well be the hottest song of the year.
