The 1990s was a decade filled with amazing television shows, and the decade really set the bar for what was to follow. Shows like The X-Files, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Friends, and more dominated the small screen, and to this day, many people feel that Seinfeld stands above them all.

Seinfeld remains a gem of a show, and even though the cast wasn't close away from set, they brought their A-game and had amazing chemistry on screen. This was a huge reason why the show was must-see TV.

The series looked like it would have been a lot of fun to film, but Michael Richards had a tough time dealing with his co-stars breaking during scenes. Clips of these interactions have emerged online, so let's take a closer look at his frustrations while filming Seinfeld all those years ago.

'Seinfeld' Is A Legendary Show

From July 1989 to May 1998, Seinfeld was arguably the most powerful show on television. It didn't get off to the greatest start, but after it was given some time to develop, the series blossomed into a force of nature, subsequently becoming arguably the greatest sitcom in the history of television.

Starring Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, Michael Richards, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Seinfeld was just what television audiences were looking for during the 1990s. It had excellent writing, hilarious and memorable storylines, and acting that brought it all home in each episode.

Show like this don't come around often, which makes them so special. The series has been finished for 24 years, and yet, it remains as popular as ever. People still devour episodes on Netflix, and many of its most iconic moments and phrases are a permanent part of pop culture.

The show was truly amazing, but it was tough work to make all those years ago.

The Show Wasn't Always Easy To Film

At times, Seinfeld could be a difficult project to film. Kramer's insane popularity, for instance, caused so much clapping from the audience, that they had to be asked to tone it down when he entered a room, according to Ranker.

There was also the issue of working with Heidi Swedberg, who simply didn't click with the rest of the cast.

Despite these hiccups, it seemed like the cast of the show had a good time working with one another. Through the years, there have been some good stories to emerge from set.

"(The cast) got a huge kick out of it. Jerry’s laughing the whole time. I mean he can’t act at all and so he’s got a huge smile on his face when anyone is saying anything. And If I looked at him and saw him doing that, then I would (crack) up. Anyway, it took a long time to shoot those things because I was ruining all the takes. And so that was my favorite thing," Dreyfus revealed.

Now., it's important to keep this ruining takes narrative in mind, as footage has come forward showing one actor having some issues with his co-stars laughing during takes.

Michael Richards Hated When His Co-Stars Messed Up

One of the tough things about Michael Richards' performance as Kramer was that it wasn't just funny to the audience; it was funny to everyone on set, too. This meant that a lot of cast members had difficulty keeping it together while filming.

Unfortunately, Richards, who gave physical and over-the-top deliveries, would have to remain in character and do it all over again. This was something that wore him down, and something that caused him quite a bit of frustration.

There are clips that have emerged online of the cast having a blast, save for Richards, who was clearly getting annoyed and frustrated.

Some fans on Reddit tried to show some understanding about Richards' frustration with his co-stars.

"TBH he probably worked so hard off screen to make sure all moments were covered. Imagine the thought put into every line, every movement, inflection to the point that you created a perfect character, and someone can't keep their shit together over something that isn't even terribly funny. I'm sure people have a good laugh now and again, but I'd wager that every blooper wasn't genuine and someone with his level of awareness knew this and thought "FML, can you just do your job please," one user wrote.
