Milana Vayntrub is an American actor, comedian, writer, director, and producer who hails from Uzbekistan. Most of her fans know her as Lily Adams in AT&T advertisements, but what they don't know is that she directed some of these commercials. With over 60 acting credits, including movies like 'Life Happens' and 'Ghostbusters' — TV shows like 'ER', 'Other Space', and 'This Is Us'. Vayntrub also wrote many 'CollegeHumor Originals' and 'Robot Chicken' television episodes, and the movie 'Mother's Little Helpers.'
Milana started popping up as the company's spokeswoman back in 2013, and stayed in that role until January 2016, when she traveled to Greece to visit Syrian refugees, and co-founded the social media movement 'Can't Do Nothing' to help them out. Milana Vayntrub was born on March 8, 1987, in Tashkent, Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic, USSR, so she's about 36 years old at the time of writing. Her family immigrated to the United States as refugees to run from the rising anti-Semitism there. They initially spent a couple of months in Vienna and less than a year in Italy before being allowed into the US as official refugees. They put down roots in Los Angeles, California in August 1989 in the West Hollywood area.
Vayntrub had this to say about the family's entry to the United States: "My mom worked in a factory that manufactured airplane parts and cleaned medical buildings at night, all while completing a program offered by the Jewish Federation to become a registered nurse at Cedars-Sinai Hospital. And my dad, he worked as a donut deliveryman."
It's not easy to start over, and as you can imagine, her family were suffering from a lot of financial issues, Milana started acting in TV commercials as a child, doing Mattel Barbie commercials at the tender age of 5.
