The Harry Potter film franchise may have been centered around Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) and his close friends (played by Rupert Grint and Emma Watson) but as fans may know, the movies (and books) feature a much bigger ensemble.

In fact, aside from Harry, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley, the films also hugely featured the lovable Weasley family.

These include the amusing Weasley twins (played by the Phelps brothers, who are more like their characters than anyone imagined) and of course, Harry’s eventual wife, Ginny (Bonnie Wright).

At the same time, one cannot forget Harry’s professors and schoolmates at Hogwarts. Fans also can’t get enough of the members of the Order of the Phoenix who were introduced later on in the story.

Among them was Nymphadora Tonks who was portrayed by actress Natalia Tena across four of the eight Harry Potter movies. Tena was a relative newcomer prior to being cast in the super-popular films.

Since Harry Potter, she’s already ventured into several non-Hogwarts-related projects.

Natalia Tena Starred In Several Other Films Following ‘Harry Potter’

Just like the other stars of the franchise, Tena readily pursued other film roles soon after Harry Potter. In fact, one year after the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, the actress joined the cast of the period drama Bel Ami, which is headlined by fellow Harry Potter alum Robert Pattinson.

Interestingly, the two ended up sharing some steamy scenes in the film, which rather felt “weird” since the actors had become good friends.

“We used to hang out for a bit, so it was a bit weird [during filming],” the actress told MTV News. “I was like, 'All right, mate, come on, let's do it! It will be fun!'”

Over the years, Tena also starred in films such as 10.000 Km, Baby, Amar, SuperBob, Residue Sangre, and Anchor and Hope. In between working on these movies, she also ventured into episodic work.

Natalia Tena Also Took On Various TV Roles

Throughout her career, Tena also pursued a wide variety of television roles. For instance, she was cast as Osha in the Emmy-winning series Game of Thrones just as her time on Harry Potter was coming to an end.

As it turns out, Tena left quite an impression on the show’s producers very early on. “When I went to the audition I wore a long scraggy brown dress I had and put a garland of ivy I had found at a festival on my head and went in thinking what sort of animal she would be,” the actress told Winter is Coming.

“I thought a leopard, controlled and ready to pounce, so that’s what I went for! I’m so lucky they liked it!” Tena remained on the show until her character was killed off during the sixth season.

Meanwhile, just as she was wrapping up her time on Game of Thrones, Tena landed a regular role in the CBS crime series Wisdom of the Crowd alongside Jeremy Piven and Richard T. Jones.

For the actress, it was a great opportunity to make a name for herself on American TV.

“I came at pilot season. I always did it [pilot season] in England, but I never got anywhere, and then I came here. When it was face to face in a room, I did better, and obviously, I got this job,” the actress told Assignment X. “I’ve always wanted to work here.”

At the same time, Tena also made a brief guest appearance in the critically acclaimed comedy Shameless. Not long after, the actress followed this up with a stint in the hit Netflix series Black Mirror.

Tena also appeared in the Star Wars series The Mandalorian as bounty hunter Xi'an.

Natalia Tena Also Ventured Into Music

While film and TV projects may have kept Tena busy, the actress still found the time to also get her music career started. After all, it was something she sort of pursued when she was younger.

“I went to boarding school at Bedales and so it was the only way to make some money for the weekend. I had other jobs like babysitting, dog walking and leafleting but from the age of 15 I did busking as well,” Tena told Essential Surrey & SW London.

“I’d basically just play the same 4 songs for 3 hours or until I had enough money.”

In recent years, Tena also ended up forming her own band known as Molotov Jukebox. The group was essentially formed after Tena and some of her friends decided that they wanted to “start our own musical fun.”

Since getting together, they’ve also found a unique way to describe their music genre. “So Tropical Gypsy is how we’d define ourselves,” the actress revealed. “It’s a mix of Latin America and Eastern Europe sort of having a love child.”
