The Real Housewives fans have come full circle with Bravo's latest reality TV sensation, Next Gen NYC. The series follows three kids from The Real Housewives and their friend group as they make their way in the Big Apple. It has been long-rumored that a show following the children of The Real Housewives was in the works, but no one knew which children Bravo cameras would follow. Now, fans get to see life behind the scenes for Gia Giudice (RHONJ), Riley Burruss (RHOA), Brooks Marks (RHOSLC), and Ariana Biermann (RHOA).
Riley and Ariana have known each other since they were young girls, since their mothers, Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Kandi Burruss, were castmates together on RHOA. However, once their moms had a falling out, Riley and Ariana's friendship slowly faded (until now).
Ariana Biermann And Riley Burruss Stopped Talking Amid Their Mothers' Feud
Ariana Biermann and Riley Burruss are reminding fans that they knew each other as kids growing up in Atlanta when their moms were on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Kandi Burruss were on RHOA together for four seasons before Kim left the series in Season 5 and returned as a friend and guest for Seasons 9, 10, and 15. The Housewives started the series as close friends, but things got messy when the two worked on Kim's song "Don’t Be Tardy" together.

Entertainment Tonight reported that Kandi sued Kim in 2013 for copyright infringement and unpaid compensation. Fans and castmates alike didn't expect the song to do as well as it did, forcing Kandi to sue for the money she deserved after the song sold 102,000 copies.
- Kandi alleged that Kim only paid her $4,000 without royalties.
- Kim eventually won the lawsuit.
- The legal drama separated the Housewives, forcing a split among their families as well.
Now, 12 years later, Riley and Ariana are back together in New York City for a new life.
Parade reported that once Riley and Ariana learned they would be on the same reality TV show together, they were both "nervous. “I was a little too nervous because I was like, we haven’t seen each other in a while, you know? We’re different. We’re grown now," Riley shared.
Ariana agreed and told Parade, “I feel like we all have a different kind of understanding and connection of different things with our moms being such Bravo icons." She continued, “I just feel like it really bonds us together in a different way than you can bond with other people.”
Riley explained that she's "grateful for the show" and bringing her new friends as she entered this new stage in life outside of The Real Housewives cameras without her famous mom. “I’m really grateful for the show, for bringing me a lot new friends," she shared. "Obviously, I knew Brooks [Marks] before, I knew Ariana [Biermann] before, but I feel like our friendships really blossomed, and I met Shai (Frutcher) and that was a great friendship to get ... it has just been really nice meeting everyone.”
Are Kim Zolciak-Biermann And Kandi Burruss Friends Again?
Now that Kim and Kandi's daughters are on the same show, the two make separate appearances on Next Gen NYC. With their worlds colliding, fans want to know if the two famous moms are still fighting after their legal issues.
As of 2023, Kim still had resentment towards Kandi and told Shereé Whitfield that the two still had "beef," as reported by Bravo. Ironically, Kandi didn't see it that way. "... As far as her saying [we had beef] — what beef? Girl, we don’t have a beef," Kandi told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live.
Ariana told People that she and Riley wanted to pull some strings to bring the two together. As of this publication, it's unknown if that reunion will be filmed on Next Gen NYC.
"We want to ‘parent trap’ [Kim and Kandi], is what we keep on saying, and make them rekindle [their] friendship."
"We’re not going to tell them and we’re just going to show up and everyone’s going to come in. Everybody’s going to work it out," Ariana shared.
What Has Ariana Biermann And Riley Burruss Been Up To Since Leaving RHOA?
The cameras for Next Gen NYC filmed Ariana Biermann and Riley Burruss reconnecting after not seeing each other since they were 8 years old. While it was awkward for them, they were excited to have a connection in New York after moving away from their parents. Now on their own, the two have been busy since their days on Bravo's screens.
Ariana has officially moved to New York with her boyfriend and castmate, Hudson McLeroy. Ariana attended Georgia State for college, but it's unknown if she completed her degree. Unfortunately, her name has been dragged through the mud after her 2021 DUI (via People) and the family's financial issues. Now, it's Ariana and Hudson's goal to create a fashion line in New York.
Meanwhile, Riley attended New York University for college and has been influencing ever since. Like her mother, her goal is to be in the music industry.
