Nick Cannon And Abby De La Rosa’s 2-Year-Old Twin Has Autism as
In light of World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, Nick and Abby De La Rosa came forward with an important update regarding one of their children's health, revealing their 2-year-old son, Zillion, has been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), a developmental condition known to impact social communication and learning behaviors, as revealed by the couple.
Nick and Abby, who are also parents to Zillion's twin brother, Zion, and their 16-month-old daughter, Beautiful, took to Instagram to make the revelation, writing, "Our beautiful boy experiences life in 4D and teaches us something new everyday!"
"His love, strength and brilliance light up every room he enters!" the parents continued in the joint post. "We are blessed that God had placed such an amazing spirit under our guardianship and we have accepted this assignment wholeheartedly!"
The heartfelt caption was accompanied by a montage of footage showing how the duo celebrated Easter weekend with their kids.
Cannon Once Said He Felt Guilty For Not Having Enough Time For His Kids
This marks the first time Cannon has gone on record about his son’s autism diagnosis, though he’s been honest about the challenges of raising such a large family, especially given that he must co-parent with different women. He previously admitted to feeling a type of way that he can’t spend more time with his kids.
"Being a father of multiple kids, it's always the biggest guilt on me is that I don't get to spend enough time with all my children," the television personality said in December 2022 when expecting his 12th child. "One 'cause I'm constantly working and two because I'm just spread thin."
Nick has admitted he may not be done expanding his family, but he’s defended himself against critics, especially claims he isn’t able to provide for so many offspring. After one report theorized Cannon must pay over $1 million in annual child support, the Masked Singer host says he spends much more, despite not being on court-ordered child support.
“I definitely spend a lot more than that on my children annually,” he said. “I don’t plan to ever have to participate in the governmental system of child.”
Nick has welcomed 12 children, including the three he shares with Abby De La Rosa. With ex-wife Mariah Carey, he shares twins Moroccan and Monroe. From his relationship with Brittany Bell, Cannon has sons Golden Sagon and Rise Messiah Cannon, along with daughter Powerful Queen. A son named Legendary Love emerged from his relationship with Bre Tiesi, while daughter Onyx Ice Cole is from his past with LaNisha Cole.
Additionally, Cannon is the father of two children with Alyssa Scott—son Zen, whose tragic passing occurred at five months old in December 2021 due to brain cancer, and daughter Halo Marie Cannon, born on December 14, 2022.
