During her Monday, May 6th interview with Howard Stern, comedian Nikki Glaser claimed that the Netflix Roast of Tom Brady was the highlight of her career. Given the sheer numbers tuning into the groundbreaking and edgy live event, it makes sense why the rising comic feels this way.

The May 2024 live comedy roast of the NFL great also drew endless criticism for some of the jokes told. This includes how Brady was visibly uncomfortable when jokes about his ex-wife Gisele Bundchen were told, something that the acclaimed model herself said she was 'deeply disappointed' about. Then there was the whole thing about Brady's other ex, Bridget Monynahan which garnered controversy. But during her interview with Howard Stern, roaster Nikki Glaser revealed that these jokes were off-the-table. However, others were. This article will delve into what Glaser said about the jokes 'banned' at the Netflix roast of Tom Brady and then share which jokes Glaser willingly cut out.

Nikki Glaser Tells Howard Stern About Which Jokes Tom Brady Banned From His Roast

Howard Stern believes that Nikki Glaser was "the hit" roaster at the Netflix skewering of Tom Brady. And he is far from the only one. Many of Brady's other roasters were criticized for being unfunny, but comic legends Nikki Glaser and Jeff Ross were almost universally praised. Aside from those who found their comments offensive, that is. But it's a roast... it's supposed to be offensive. Glaser knew that, which is why she made some pretty brutal comments about Brady's love life, his looks, his crypto scandal, and his teammates. But during her May 6th, 2024 interview with the extremely wealthy radio legend, Glaser spilled the beans about which topics were off-limits at the Netflix roast.

"Were there any restrictions placed on you?" Howard Stern asked Nikki Glaser. "Did anyone say to you from Netlfix, 'Hey, this is what's off base'. Because it doesn't seem like you were."

Glaser then confirmed that there were, in fact, restrictions about jokes.

"Yeah, I think we all collectively just decided not to involve his kids too much in anything, because they didn't ask for that. So, any kind of reference to, any kind of thing with that, we left off the table."

Glaser then claimed that she couldn't tell a joke that referred to a famous image of Brady kissing his son on the lips.

"I couldn't say, you know, 'Tom, hopefully we make out at the after-party. You can pretend I'm your son.' You know, like the reference to him kissing his son which -- you know -- my dad kissed me on the lips as a kid, and throughout my adulthood, so, I really related to that and never judged it in any way. Other than I thought it was a cute moment."

Glaser claimed that she and the other roasters knew that leaving the kids out of the sets was the right thing to do. However, on the day, there were other jokes that Brady seemed to be legitimately angry about.

Howard Stern inquired about the joke Nikki Glaser made about Tom Brady abandoning his then-pregnant ex Bridget Moynahan. Brady's reaction to this joke made headlines as he appeared visibly uncomfortable. While Glaser knew this joke made Brady uncomfortable, it was Jeff Ross' joke about Patriots' owner Robert Kraft and his massage parlor scandal that got the quarterback really upset. So much so that Brady got up and seriously told Ross to lay off.

"Was that for real or was he joking?" Stern asked Glaser of the now-infamous Brady/Ross moment.

"I believe that was for real," Glaser replied. "Based on the little knowledge I have of it, Robert Kraft was not a confirmed guest to have been there. I didn't know he was going to be there until I was there. And I knew everyone else."

Glaser then stated that Kraft is like a dad figure to Brady and that he wouldn't want jokes about him. She then said that Brady was likely looking out for Ross while telling him to lay off making fun of Kraft. According to her, Jeff Ross also felt bad about the joke.

Nikki Glaser Cut Jokes Out Of Her Roast Of Tom Brady

During their May 6th, 2024 interview on SiriusXM, Howard Stern also asked Nikki Glaser about the jokes she purposefully didn't tell during the Netflix Roast of Tom Brady aside from the ones that were banned. Knowing that Stern would ask this question, Glaser brought a few of her favorite ones which she cut out. The comedian claimed to have done this because they were either not as good as her other material or they conflicted with things other roasters were saying about the acclaimed quarterback.

"Why [I removed these jokes] was really cut for time. Or, it just wasn't as strong as others. Or it hit on something someone else was saying. Or, you know, you'll see, some of them were just softer."

Nikki then read a few of the jokes she almost included in her roast. They included an opening of her addressing the crowd:

"Thank you all for being her tonight and taking some time away from cheating on your wives. Hey, it's not their fault. It's their wives's fault for aging naturally."

Glaser also cut out a joke about how the NFL pays to cover up CTE (Chronic traumatic encephalopathy) research and murders doctors who want to expose the danger of head trauma. On top of this, Glaser cut out another joke about Tom Brady's plastic surgery and how he's looking more and more like his ex-wife. Many of these were already covered in other roasters material. Glaser claimed that there are only so many jokes one could make about Tom Brady and his life and therefore there were going to be redundancies which she desperately tried to avoid.
