Olivia Jade is back on YouTube, and her mom is back from prison. According to CNN, Lori Loughlin left her cell in late December and is now on a "supervised release" that will last another two years.
Despite her family's ongoing criminal entanglements (her dad Mossimo Giunulli is still serving time) Olivia Jade is doing her best to polish their public image. In a YouTube video posted yesterday, the influencer gave fans every reason to believe that all is well and the family is moving forward with smiles, puppy cuddles, and even charitable donations.
Olivia Doesn't Specify Where She'll Donate
In the first few minutes of Olivia's new vid, she tells viewers that she's back and "this is so crazy!" While she delivers her intro, fine print written in black at the top corner of the video reads:
"Disclaimer: I will be donating a percentage of my adsense on ALL videos going forward to a charity I work with and really admire."
The vague reference to her good deed made some viewers wonder if she was just paying lip service to redeem herself in the eyes of her fans. She didn't specify what kind of percentage she's committing to donate, nor did she reveal which charity she has chosen.
Most Criticism is Being Deleted
There's a lot of action in the comments section of Olivia's video, and some of it seems to be coming from Olivia's team themseves. In some now deleted comments, fans asked her to be more specific about her charitable initiative.
Some pointed out that she could have been doing charitable work in all the time she's been out of school, and may only be doing it now for clout. Most comments criticizing her donation plans have now been deleted, with only a few clues that they were there in the first place.
"Honestly, I don't feel like you have addressed everything to do with the charity," one comment still reads.
Another one with dozens of upvotes asks "I would like to know the charity she is donating proceeds to??"
"The amount of moderation in these comments is too damn high," claimed a user named Jonathan White in a comment that's still published. "They deleting everything."
Fans Are Defending Her Character
The remaining comments under Olivia Jade's new video are overwhelmingly positive. It seems like her nearly 2 million followers are keen to support the new, positive projects Olivia is planning.
"I am glad you learned from it and you're using your name now to promote good," wrote one fan, referencing the college admissions scandal as 'it.'
Another responded to Olivia Jade's haters with a simple fact: "We're happy she's back. The past is the past."
