Is Harry Styles The Reason Olivia Wilde And Jason Sudeikis' Split Up?
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Olivia Wilde opened up about the rumors that she had left Jason Sudeikis for her current boyfriend, Harry Styles.
"The complete horses*** idea that I left Jason for Harry is completely inaccurate," the actress told Vanity Fair. "Our relationship was over long before I met Harry. Like any relationship that ends, it doesn’t end overnight."
"Unfortunately, Jason and I had a very bumpy road, and we officially dissolved the relationship towards the beginning of the pandemic," Wilde added. "We were raising two kids during lockdown, so we co-parented through that time. Once it became clear that cohabitating was no longer beneficial for the children, it became the responsible thing to not, because we could be better parents as friends who live in different houses."
While Wilde revealed that Styles wasn't to blame for her and Sudeikis' split, fans were surprised to see just how quickly the actress had moved on. Wilde and Sudeikis ended their relationship in November 2020, and by January 2021, the actress was already spotted with the famous singer.
Olivia Wilde And Jason Sudeikis' Custody Battle
While it sources have revealed that Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis aren't on friendly terms anymore, it wasn't until Wilde was publicly served custody papers while speaking onstage at CinemaCon 2022 that everyone realized just how bad their relationship is today.
"In any other workplace, it would be seen as an attack," the actress told Variety."It was really upsetting. It shouldn't have been able to happen. There was a huge breach in security, which is really scary."
"The hurdles that you had to jump through to get into that room with several badges, plus special Covid tests that had to be taken days in advance, which gave you wristbands that were necessary to gain access to the event - this was something that required forethought," Wilde added.
"I hated that this nastiness distracted from the work of so many different people and the studio that I was up there representing," she went on to say. "To try to sabotage that was really vicious. But I had a job to do; I'm not easily distracted. But, you know, sadly, it was not something that was entirely surprising to me. I mean, there's a reason I left that relationship."
Since then, Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis have landed on a split custody arrangement meaning that their children go back and forth between them.
According to Radar Online, the actress even plans to move with the children to London to be closer to Harry Styles. "Basing [the kids] in the U.K. is a viable option for their future, given she sees that with Harry, who wants to stay in London," added the insiders, who pointed out that "nothing has been signed and sealed yet but they are strongly considering the move," a source told the outlet.
In his court filing, Sudeikis elaborated on the reasons he wants custody. "Olivia said that if I did not reside full-time in Los Angeles, she would allow me to spend time with Otis and Daisy on weekends and during vacation periods — thus depriving me of my right to parent the children during important periods of their lives," the actor claimed. "Second, Olivia said that she intended to relocate with the children to London following the close of school in 2023."
Bustle reports that the former couple struggles with finding a more permanent custody agreement, as Olivia Wilde lives in Los Angeles and potentially plans to relocate to London because of Styles, while Jason Sudeikis is located in Brooklyn, New York.
According to a source for People, as of writing, Wilde and Sudikis are not on speaking terms. "She and Jason don't speak to each other, so they have help communicating about the custody schedule," the source told the outlet.
While Harry Styles didn't directly affect Wilde and Sudeikis' custody battle, it's safe to say that the fact that the actress moved on so quickly surely left a bad taste in Sudeikis' mouth.
