Friends enjoyed quite the run and to this day, fans continue to binge-watch the series. It is an easy watch and for many, the show is like a second family.

Fans got to see several storylines along the way, including many of the main cast locking lips along the years. That includes the likes of Ross and Joey, or Monica and Rachel. However, within the main six, there was one duo that didn't kiss, and it is surprising given how close they are behind the scenes. We'll reveal the duo, and if there were any explanations as to why it never took place.

In addition, we're going to take a closer look at other romance storylines Friends tinkered with. Some that took place, and others that didn't. It seems like the creators almost made bold decisions related to the main stars hooking up, we'll reveal which came close to almost taking place, and why place were eventually nixed for certain storylines. Throughout the show's ten seasons, several ideas were thrown around. Among them, included certain relationships. Monica and Joey was considered at the start. However, the showrunners revealed that the chemistry between the two seemed off.

“When we were originally conceiving the show, we actually thought that Monica and Joey might become a thing and then we cast it, and just went ‘that’s not the right energy’ because now they’re faces and they’re people."

Chandler and Monica ended up getting together on the show, but even that wasn't meant for the long run. Given the reaction the two got, the relationship was extended and eventually, in for the long run.

Phoebe and Joey were also considered throughout the show. Both had pitched a storyline that saw them getting together romantically for years, despite none of the close friends being aware. Plans were nixed however, as it appeared to be too perfect of a storyline, given that four of the other friends also ended up together.

During the 10 seasons of Friends, we saw the main cast kiss on multiple occasions. Heck, even Ross and his own sister Monica accidentally kissed at a party when they were younger, in what was a hilarious flashback moment. Rachel and Phoebe also had a kiss, as Rachel tried to show her close friend that she had a wild side as well.

However, there was one duo that didn't kiss, and it was Monica and Phoebe. No real reason as to why, the two were also very close behind the scenes. Even the guys shared kisses, Ross showed his support for Joey's acting career, and opted to kiss Joey as he was prepping for a role. Nonetheless, the moment never took place for Monica and Phoebe.

At the start of her journey on Friends, there were insecurities Lisa Kudrow was battling behind the scenes. Things got so tough for Kudrow, that she contemplated leaving the show, but was motivated by Matt LeBlanc not to do so.

Among her problems including a feeling of inadequacy alongside Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston.

“Seeing myself on the show and seeing myself in clothes and seeing Courtney and Jennifer, I thought, ‘Oh, they know tailoring so they can discuss it with the costume designer about where exactly to take it in."

Kudrow adds, “You see yourself on TV and it’s that ‘Oh my God, I’m just a mountain of a girl’ … I’m already bigger than Courteney and Jennifer, like my bones feel bigger."

Things changed along the way, and Kudrow grew extremely close to her castmates, especially Courteney Cox.

“To be friends with Courtney is to be family with Courtney, and she is responsible for all of that."

“From the beginning of when we met her, she was immediately inclusive, warm, loving, interested in everything about you. And I was really nervous to meet her because I was a huge fan," Kudrow said on the Hollywood Walk of Fame while honoring Cox.

The two remain very close all these years later, showing just how genuine the friendship was both on and off the show.
