Reality TV watchers got an unpleasant surprise as 2024 drew to a close — fan favorite couple Paige DeSorbo of Summer House and Craig Conover of Southern Charm ended their three-year, cross-Bravo relationship.
Paige and Craig's split capped off a tumultuous year in Bravo's broader stable of popular content, with legal problems and accusations and business closures and cast reboots all converging around the network's casts and properties.
One teensy silver lining regarding Paige and Craig's breakup was that the couple seemed to part ways on good terms.
Paige disclosed the news on the podcast she shares with Hannah Berner, Giggly Squad, and she emphasized that their split was not due to any sort of bad blood, nor did either party wish the other ill:
"I think we will remain friends. No one did anything. It wasn’t a bad thing.
"I think we both were just being really mature and saying what we want and what we didn’t want, and I think that’s extremely powerful to be able to voice how you’re feeling in real-time and what you want for your future."
More broadly in pop culture, discourse around the topic of "parasocial relationships" – a term which typically describes the sometimes intense yet one-sided connection between fans and stars – has been cyclically popular, and the very nature of reality TV inherently encourages viewers' interest in stars' personal lives.
As such, fans become deeply invested in the relationships and breakups on these shows, and Paige and Craig splitting up bothered fans — which might motivate exes to present a veneer of cordiality during something like the end of a relationship.
When Paige broke the news on December 30, she specifically said: "I will remain the biggest fan of him, and want the best for [Craig], and he truly will get the best, because he is the best."
She later appeared to take exception to a TikTok user's baseless claim she'd cheated on Craig, advancing the notion the split was friendly.
However, a reality TV site caught Paige "liking" a meme that dragged Southern Charm quite savagely, and fans are very curious about whether her "like" signaled undisclosed conflict.

Paige May Have Unliked, But Comments Tell A Story
On Sunday, January 12, RealityBlurb spotted Paige's noteworthy Instagram activity and covered it.
Paige's Instagram "like" appeared on a post from the same day, shared by reality TV fan account @blocked_by_jax:
The post was, obviously, a meme, and it alluded to fans becoming disinterested in Southern Charm in favor of Southern Hospitality.
It wasn't just a meme, though, as @blocked_by_jax dispensed with all ambiguity and captioned it as follows:
Southern Charm is in its flop era and Southern Hospitality is killing it 👏🏼
The first visible comment on the post read: "Omg Paige liked it."
In response, someone said of Paige's engagement with the post: "The not so subtle shade 😂. Shot fired!"
Another wrote: "@paige_desorbo liking this is hilarious."
On Monday, January 13, we were unable to find Paige DeSorbo among those who "liked" the post, suggesting the attention prompted her to unlike it — which only made fans more curious about whether it was accidental, or whether Paige and Craig's breakup was less amicable than she originally claimed.
