The news of their break-up comes only months after Pete and Chase were involved in a car crash in Beverly Hills in March 2022 that left the comedian with reckless driving charges.

At the time, it was reported that Pete’s car had hopped the curb and hit a fire hydrant before subsequently crashing into a home. The homeowner’s 16-year old daughter was home at the time, but walked away with no injuries (though Pete’s Mercedes was totalled).

“The structure of the house is damaged tremendously,” the home owner told Us Weekly. “It was very dramatic.”

Months later, Pete was charged with reckless driving in June following the crash. Following an investigation, while alcohol and substances were not deemed to be a contributing factor, it was said that speed played a part.

It's unclear if Pete and Chase’s car crash factored into their reported break-up.

Though Pete and Chase originally met in 2021 while working on the horror flick Bodies Bodies Bodies, they didn’t begin dating until late 2022 when they were spotted at a New York Ranges game at Madison Square Garden in December.

Pete’s romance with Chase came only months after he ended things with Kim Kardashian in August 2022. The pair had previously met in October 2021 when she guest starred in SNL.

Now that it’s been over a year since their split, Kim admits she regrets moving on with Pete so quickly after her divorce from Kanye West – she didn’t even finalize her divorce until months after breaking things off with Pete. “It got my mind away from stuff and that's not a way to run from things,” Kim said of their brief romance in a July episode of The Kardashians. “It's better to deal. Heal…Deal, heal and then feel.”

Later in the episode, Kim admitted she’s struggling not to look at the relationship “negatively.” “I'm not going to take every experience and bad thing that happened to me and carry that into my life,” she said. “What am I supposed to be learning from this? How is this going to make me a better person?”

Kanye infamously harassed Pete while he was dating Kim. Not only was the rapper vocal about wanting to win his ex-wife back, but he made a lot of digs at Pete, both online and in interviews. Ye even went so far as to release a music video in which an animated version of him buries Pete alive, while rapping he wants to “beat” him.

It was later reported that Pete checked into trauma therapy following Kanye’s harassment, and he broke up with Kim shortly after.
